If Desean Jackson, Patrick Willis, and Calvin Johnson had a baby, Benardrick would still kick its arse.

And if you lose by more points I don't assume that means we are better if that's the angle you're assuming. Can't compare how one team plays another. We should have killed Arky if that was true. I thought we had a great game plan and our 4-2-5 puts a lot of speed on the field

I'm a big believer in going for it on fourth down, but the playcall was awful to go with the massive risk. At least we're willing to roll the dice. Ole Miss isn't going to win numerous games without having some boldness.
For your game against A&M, they make mistakes and turn the football over. State just has to limit mistakes and play their game.

We could also bring Jamerson in as an extra DB and walk him down some to spy. He is the fastest player on the team, allegedly.

I think we will use Wells as a spy. I have nothing to base that on. Just stating what I would do.
Yeah I agree. He's by far the best player for that role that I can think of on your team. Worked ok with us putting a freshman spying him but he just wore town at the end

And we have done that all year, sans last Saturday. Not that it would have mattered, anyway.

Chris Wilson states that we design each defense to make the offense "left-handed".

Which is why I think you're going to win Saturday.
Last week doesn't matter, who has been able to hang with Bama?

Yeah banks and slay with get their picks. JFF isn't very smart with the ball, state just has to make fewer mistakes

From watching a few Bama games this year you can tell the opposing players know they have zero margin of error. When we missed that FG everyone just looked dejected. Not that we would have won or anything but that was huge. After the miss they marched down the field and scored and that was ball game.

The problem is that no one player can effectively contain JFF.
Look at Florida, look at LSU, they did it with multiple players who could contain Johnny while having the talent in the secondary to prevent him from completing a pass.
Florida tried to spy as well and it failed.
LSU changed to a 3 man front and pulled off the aggressive pass rush to keep their DEs in contain with 2 LBs coming wide.
Both were successful because they could go man to man with our WRs and keep JFF in the pocket.

McKinney is about a 4.5 guy @ 6'4 230... he's out of his natural position as a middle linebacker, but has enough athleticism to make it work. Fully expect Richie to push him outside into Cam's spot next year.
I expect us to play almost this entire game in a 3-4 just like LSU did in the second half with Skinner, McKinney, Wells, and Cam on the field together. Our defensive weakness(no pressure from the DL) is actually almost a blessing in this game. Going to play contain on Manziel and try to make him beat us with his arm from the pocket... then go multiple on the coverages and try to confuse him in the secondary

You haven't played them yet. Be careful what you got to say before you see what they are about.
Also, @ the idea I am a State fan.

Probably the best bet, but you don't have the athletes that LSU did. The contain by the DEs was successful because of their speed and even they admit they had trouble with him.
Should be a good game.

Against us, LSU started out by trying to make us throw the ball. When we did that well, you adjusted by taking somebody out of the box, but we still couldn't run against it. Miss State has an adequate defense, but LSU, Florida, and Bama have defense that are on another level.
I just don't think that State can keep us under 30.
