Last year, he posted a tease that he had some "earth shattering" news. He has a history of jumping the gun.

The Earth Shattering news was Dee Hart and Haha Dix flipping to Auburn. All that was DH using us for leverage.
But he jumped on the Chiz being fired Monday wagon. It was being spewed from every source there is.

I'm not trying to fuel a fire, nor do I mean any disrespect in this post so please do not take what I say as offensive; that is not the intent of this post.
That being said, we are all aware of what news broke early Monday morning.
You have to ask yourself, "How bad would Auburn University look firing Gene on that same day?"

While I think it would be great to dump off the whole lot of assistants now, realistically it would be awful for us to not let them finish the year. Take our lumps and just hope that the powers that be will be smart enough to go ahead and dump of Chizik at the end of the year.

A couple of Auburn coaches went down to see Dee and seal the deal on him being an Auburn EE. I believe it was the day college classes started for the Spring if my memory is correct. One of Dee's high school coaches saw our coaches and called Saban. He got pissed off about it and did whatever finagling he needed to do to make Dee an EE. Dee was at uat 2 days later. I can't remember if you guys posted it over here but Dee had his Auburn paperwork done before then as his name was in the tigermail student email system

Oh, no doubt we had a chance. I didn't buy into him being to lock to Alabama simply because his brother played there at all. I think we also missed out on him because he waited too late in the game to visit us. It was a very weird situation.
Looking back, I'm not mad about missing on Dee Hart, though. The last thing we need is another small back to go along with Blakely, Mason, and McCalebb.
