His accomplishments as a freshman QB speak for themselves I think. He's not on a team with a top 10 D, filled with 4/5 star recruits. I think he'll be the best QB in the league 2013 and 2014 possibly.

I think they are a legit top 20 team. that offensive line si going to suprise the shite out of lsu and bama. they aren't going to get any pressure without bringing extra

I don't think pressuring the guy is key.

At this stage in his development, could well be. He tends to throw when he shouldn't right now.

Gap discipline and good downfield pass coverage is the key

162 QB rating, almost 1700 yards passing, 700 yards running...pretty good.

it's not just abou tpressuring them , they havea really good running back in Michael.

that offensive line is good enough to make you have to revamp your initial game strategy. i'm telling you that line will maul the shite out of lsu and lay all over them come the 3rd and 4th unless they bring someone to help out. that's not a line you are going to go up straight up against for 4 quarters and win, i don't care who you are. they are that good. seriously they aren't that far at all behind bama

however their weakness, at least how i perceive it is that manzell really isn't all that accurate past 20 yards and they don't have just elite playmakers outside of Michael.

last year's team with sumlin could have very well went to the natty

I generally disagree with the idea to bring pressure. His poor decisions have been when he gets confused by the coverage and doesn't know where to go but has no rush lane.

Personally I'd mix up coverages and gap control the shite out of him. Force him to throw and don't make them easy decisions. That's when he gets in trouble. When you push up field, you leave gaps and that's when he is dangerous. That causes people to lose folks in the secondary as well

we without a doubt lack elite playmakers but I wouldn't worry much about Michael. In fact, I doubt he touches the ball more than 5-6 times Saturday. He has fumblitis and doesn't do the little things required in this offense (block mostly) to play much.

I think the offense becomes a lot more explosive next year when Brandon Williams, Tra Carson (transfer from OU and Ore respectively) are eligible and some of the incoming freshmen WRs get here.

Maybe but measuring him against how he does against LSU and UA is a bit unfair I think. The vast majority of QB's in CFB won't play that caliber of D even once. JFF will twice.
=============
Actually the UF D is pretty good so 3 times.

Hitting him over and over won't be nearly as effective as the gap discipline and throwing some confusing coverages that he hasn't seen. He is still a freshman and Chavis is a great coordinator. Manziel has a bright future, but will lose this gane

Couldn't have said it better. The young man has a lot to learn but he's definitely on track.

that's the thing. you aren't going to hit him over and over lol.

sumlin really is an offensive genius. his entire offense is designed to negate the pass rush. you won't hit him beucase even if yiou do happen to get past that beastly online, the ball will have been gone.

he finds very creative ways to get the ball out of his hand really quickly

I think lsu is going to win, but i think this game is going to be a LOT closer than most lsu fans think is comfortable.
