Mississippi State, I'm calling you out

The year was 2006 in the month of November. The Battle for Highway 82 was underway. The Mississippi State Bulldogs traveled the 90 miles to Tuscaloosa, AL. and came away with a victory of 24–16.
Bundy & company, You are Undefeated in the SEC & the Nation. You are ranked #12 in the BCS and will have achieved a mark of 7-0 when you play Nick Saban's #1 Ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. The time is now.
2007: Stanford Over USC 24-23
When it comes to a team being favored, 41 points is unheard of. But USC was favored by just that many points. That means that the good people who analyze teams and set the odds pretty much considered Stanford a high school team. Junior varsity. And probably all white kids. But Jim Harbaugh (yes, THE Jim Harbaugh) and his Stanford Cardinals went into the game thinking about one thing: winning. Earlier in the season, Jim Harbaugh claimed that USC might be the best team in the history of college football. Wow! Talk about snake-biting a team. Stanford ended up beating the mighty Trojans 24-23, a win considered the biggest statistical upset ever. Such is the power of Jim Harbaugh.
2007: Appalachian State Over Michigan 34-32
Many football fans cite this victory as the greatest upset in college football history. And it makes sense. Michigan is the most prolific team in college football, and were even favored as a possible national champion in pre-season rankings. In fact, this game was a write-off. ASU received $400,000--payment for the thrashing they were SUPPOSED to receive. And while ASU was not a bad football team, not by a long-shot, the numbers favored Michigan. Future NFL draft picks, scholarships galore, and 110,000 people rooting them on. The odds were no doubt in favor of the Wolverines. It's currently the first and only time a ranked Division 1 team has ever lost to an unranked Division 1AA team.
2003: Kansas State Over Oklahoma 35-7
When #13 ranked Kansas State was slated to play #1 ranked Oklahoma in 2003, no one gave them much of a shot. Oklahoma was considered the best team in college football and a lock for the national championship. They went into their game against Kansas uninspired. QB Ell Robertson threw 4 touchdown passes, and Heisman candidate Darren Sproles ran for 235 yards. Despite the loss, Oklahoma was sent to the BCS national championship, where they lost to #2 LSU.
Iowa State 37, Oklahoma State 31 (2 OT), 2011: The No. 2-ranked Cowboys had a BCS National Championship Game berth in hand and it slipped away in Ames. Iowa State racked up 560 yards of offense and forced five turnovers to pull off the shocker.
Utah 31, Alabama 17, 2009: One of the reasons Utah is now in the Pac-12 is because of wins like this one. Many people outside of Utah expected Alabama to crush the Utes in the 2009 Sugar Bowl. The Utes rolled the Tide, however. Utah scored on its first three possessions to take a 21-0 first quarter lead and cruised to victory.
Boise State 43, Oklahoma 42 (OT), 2007: The Broncos rose up into the college football elite with this memorable comeback win over the Sooners. Boise State forced overtime with a touchdown off a hook-and-ladder play and then
Kentucky 43, LSU 37 (3 OT), 2007: This was the first of two triple-overtime losses for the eventual national champs. Losing to the Wildcats still makes no sense five years later. Kentucky went 8-5 that season and won just two other SEC games. LSU was ranked No. 1 in the nation at the time. But the Tigers struggled with penalties and were stopped short on fourth down in the third overtime to hand the Wildcats the unlikely victory.
BEAT BAMA

You post more about State than you do about Kentucky it seems. Are you sure that you aren't actually a State fan?

This is why we play the game. It's been done before and I would love to see Bama beat by State. Its time for an upset.

I don't live vicariously through anyone. I believe in the little guy. I don't bow down to anyone and neither should state. I wrote a letter to Mullen when he became the H.C. of Mississippi State. I told him that Alabama is not God's gift to college football and I wished him the best at State. I know that for a team like state to come as far as they have is remarkable. Kentucky got a bit of that when we beat LSU in 2007. It's their time to shine now.
