That pretty much covers what's in the Auburn thread.

I think breaking it down by location (5 Points, Vista, etc.) would be a good idea, since they are geared towards different crowds, and depending on where people stay, they usually choose one or the other.

Not a bad idea. But I wouldn't recommend anyone flying other team's colors to venture into 5-points anytime soon.

Just a tragedy waiting to happen.

Only place I go to regularly in 5 Points is Goatfeathers, because you're not gonna have to deal with that shite in there.

I'll drive the extra mile and pay for parking to go to the Vista instead of walking the half mile to 5 Points.

My favorite places to eat:
Pawley's Front Porch, Thirsty Fellow, Liberty, Oyster Bar, Cantina 76, Henry's, Pizza Man, Rockaways, Hunter Gatherer

Favorite Bars:
Jake's, Saloon, Village Idiot, Salty Nut, Breakers, Tin Roof, Flying Saucer, World of Beer, Delaney's

Kind of sucks most of my favorite places are in 5 Points. Haven't really been able to go down there lately without fear of getting curb stomped.

Eating:

Rockaway's, Delaney's, Liberty, Pearlz, Pawley's, Eric's San Jose, and Tio's

Drinking:

World of Beer, Delaney's, Goatfeathers, The Whig, Carolina Ale House, Jake's

Good Music:

New Brookland Tavern (Some Nights), Delaney's, Art Bar (Some Nights), 5 Points Pub (Some Nights)

The music scene in this town isn't as great as I'd hoped.

I'm excited about the Music Room Jam Festival on Main this weekend though.

Pretty good list.

I would add Little Pigs BBQ even though it's down 77 and Yesterdays.

You could do a section on neighborhoods in Columbia also. Which ones are upscale, which ones are ghetto, which ones are crowded, etc.

Yeah its in an odd location but its pretty chill. Only been in there once. Pretty much just a small bar, some tables and a pool table and some outside seating. Never going to see a huge party or a crowd there but its not so bad.

I would add Social, The Big Ugly, Blue, Mojito's, Gervais and Vine, and Uncle Louie's to the Vista bars. Social is where Rust used to be, beside Motor Supply, and is a newer place that I've heard good things about. Big Ugly is beside Flying Saucer and is in theory supposed to be Cajun inspired. Gervais and Vine is a wine bar that is said to have the best wine list in town. Uncle Louie's is a hole in the wall on Park in the middle of all the other popular places. Also downtown is the Whig, a little hipster for my taste, but it's still a bar.

There's also a new place called Oak Table across Gervais from the State House that is another pricey, but good restaurant. A nice place for Jazz downtown is Mac's on Main and their buffet during the day has quality southern food. Chelsea's is a new seafood restaurant on Main that I haven't tried, but they are really trying to get that area going, so it might be worth mentioning. They just opened that Cowboy Brazilian Steak place on main as well.

Also I would put in a caveat that all the bars shut down at 2am with the exception of Kelly's Deli and Pub in the Vista and a couple in 5Points (Bar None, maybe?).

I love the Whig. Damn good jukebox, great beer selection, decent late night pizza, and it's cheap.

CNB should take everything you've posted and add it to the OP.

Also, links are a good idea if you haven't started on that already.

I think it would be a good idea to include happy hour prices and times. So everyone can catch some deals.

Dano's- Mondays and Tuesdays $4 domestic pitchers(pretty sure all night)

Salty Nut- 4-7 pm, $7 pitchers, $1 off liquor drinks and domestic beers(correct me if I'm wrong)

Delaney's- Wednesdays $2 pints all night

Speakeasy- ^same as Delaney's

That's all I got for now.
