“We continue to see an increase in students with grade point averages above 3.6 and ACT scores of 26 or higher,” Gearhart said. “We’ve also seen a significant increase in the number of students graduating in the top 10 percent of their class. So we can again say this year’s incoming class is the most academically accomplished and most prepared in the history of the University of Arkansas.”

Beside all the obvious complaints about admitting a record number of students while having to house them miles from campus, having classes in Barnhill, the Union and in dorms there’s also this:
Graduation, Retention and Transfer Rates:
First Year Student Retention (full-time students): 83%
Transfer Out Rate: 25%
4-Year Graduation Rate: 35%
6-Year Graduation Rate: 58%

Is it true that all Arkansas grads are guaranteed a junior level management position at Walmart?

I have no idea where he got those numbers.
Arkansas actually in the mid-range for secondary education in the USA and ahead of most other southern states. However, we are towards the bottom of adults with higher education degrees. This is a win for the entire state of Arkansas and the University of Arkansas.
The University of Arkansas is not even remotely the same school as it was in early 2000's from buildings, academics and network.
Arkansas is a much better school now and the statics show this as well.
5,000 Freshmen forming the A.

Congrats what does that make you the 7th largest school in the SEC?

I remember playing NCAA March Madness 99, and it had the enrollment next to teams, Arkansas' was around 15,300 and it seemed so small for even back then.
Seeing 25K now is crazy and it's awesome how much it's grown and continues to grow at a great rate.

Damn, isn't that 1/4 of the population of Arkansas?

But everyone else got better at a much greater rate. Your school isn't very good.

I like how the graph says it is by year, when it is by every 10 years.
Also Im so sick of this
This is happening at basically every school in the country. Grade inflation is at an all time high.

Not really, last years average enrollment in the sEC was 29,816.
Florida, and aTm take it up that high, but Vandy's 13K also lowers it quite a bit.

Every large public school that borders it, save the Mississippi schools, Okie State, and Texas Tech.
Arkansas just isn't a good school. They haven't been in the past, and haven't magically surpassed anyone in the past decade. It isn't that big of a deal, just don't try to prop up your crappy school. It isn't a commuter college, but it ain't that far off.

Getting more people doesn't magically make you a good school. It just means that a lot of stupid Dallas suburbanites have parents that can afford out of state tuition.
