If only everyone went by consensus national titles. All of these were awarded at the time with actual hardware that's still around. No retroactive bs.

I really don't understand the need for Alabama to claim all the prior ones. Isn't 9 plenty? We're still ahead of everyone else.

You don't claim your 1958 UPI national championship? It says you do on the list of national championships. And the UPI didn't start awarding championships until 1950.

Aight, should have read up, but still claiming titles before 1950 is kinda stretching it, ESP when people on the rant point out all the time that it was a different game back then and throw out stats. Kinda hypocritical to claim titles and not count the stats

So does Notre Dame, USC, and Michigan...among others.
Hell, more than half of the 11 national championships Michigan claims are from before 1920.
