I actually know a good number of Southern grads who pull for Tech.
As far as endowment goes, I would HOPE that a Technical research institution would have a larger endowment than a Liberal Arts institution. All the education, forestry, animal science, and agriculture graduates won't make all that much money...where as Aeronautical, civil, mechanical, etc engineering graduates will make a considerable amount more. Even with Terry Business College and a new Engineering Program, they will still make up a smaller portion of the student body than Tech's Engineers. Them's just the breaks.

You know damn well that 99% of tech fans went to tech and that 99% of Georgia fans didn't and can't even spell Georgia and have never stepped foot in Athens.

I always have to listen to Widespread Panic or REM when I eat at Waffle House to balance things out.
My extended family probably makes up for half of the Tech fan base, as well.
