Can we avoid the Ag on Ag violence please?

More importantly, let's keep this forum from becoming "Texags East"

Regardless of the corps hijinks I think they provide a lot of character for the university. Plus I never ran into any problems with any of them and used to party it up with a few.

Lol I would never refer to A&M as a military school, the corps is a joke.

Never personally heard anybody refer to A&M as a military school.

The Corps doesn't suck. I just wish they wouldn't embarrass us on national tv, like they always seem to do.

Getting rid of the corps block would help that problem.
Getting some women on the field, whether it be the ADT or female cheerleaders would also help portray a more accurate image of what TAMU is today. Nothing against the corps and what they do but A&M has a major image problem nationally and now would be the time to fix that going into the new league.

Corps Block was created my freshman year (fall 1996) and implemented my sophomore year. Before that, the cadets would pull with their classes.
Hopgood, Southerland, and Groff have a special place in hell reserved for them because of it.

I know we give the Aggies a lot of shite, but this is pretty awesome:
quote:
During World War II, Texas A&M produced 20,229 Aggies who served in combat. Of those, 14,123 Aggies served as officers; more than the combined total of the United States Naval Academy and the United States Military Academy and more than three times the totals of any other [senior military college]

So?
Why is the Corps a joke? I could see saying that they have done some stupid stuff, but not a joke.

The only solution would be to disband the Corps block. Its easy for cameras to focus on people that have a uniform, even more so when they are all sitting together.
The corps does embarrass A&M a lot. From doing stupid shite on national t.v, to just looking plain weird. The real jackasses are the puny fish corps turds that yell at people for walking on grass, no, not the MSC grass. Its ridiculous, at least get your facts straight, and even if they were walking on the MSC grass don't blow up.

I think you try to impress all these fricking internet people way too much. Are you trying to be that cool A&M poster that everyone likes and kisses arse all the time? Being all nice and using excessive ?

I agree that they should pull just like everyone else. This way, the fish would be up in the third deck.
It would also help if they dressed in the bdu bottoms and a maroon shirts at games. There is a requirement for SMCs that the cadets wear uniforms, so don't know if that would meet that requirement or not.

The excuse the commandant made back in 1996 (his first year) was to keep cadets from leaving the march-ins then changing into civilian clothes to go to the games OR not even going and watching in their dorm rooms. Southerland (VP of student affairs) saw it as an opportunity to "put the corps front and center" to increase enrollment...and Wally Groff was just a piece of shite.
