7-5. Swing games are obviously Auburn, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Arkansas.

I give MSU a...
60% chance to beat UT
40% chance to beat AU
40% chance to beat Texas AM
20% chance to beat Arkansas

Between A&M's Oline and Sean Porter I think A&M will tougher than Tennessee. Heck, depending on how Kiehl/Mosely turns out I'd put A&M as tougher than Au.

We will have the SEC's 3rd or 4th best defense- I'm not worried about A&M's OL

Ever heard of Luke Joeckel and Jake Matthews? Barring unforseen injury, they're both lock NFL first-rounders at offensive tackle. Draft experts already have Joeckel going in the top 10 and I read the other day where one guy has him going #2 overall!

It's not going to be "the greatest O-line in world history" or something absurd like that, but you ought not take A&M's line lightly.

A&M is going to be a tougher game for y'all than Tennessee for sure.

why yes I have- Alabama and LSU have those type of guys on the OL also. And we gave those 2 all they wanted in Starkville. But those 2 have something A&M doesnt- a badass defense.

Our D wont wear down against you guys from having to stay on the field the whole night because our offense cant move the ball. We were 16th in the country in scoring D- and will be better on defense this season.

You need to learn the names Josh Boyd, Cam Lawrence, Denico Autry, Jonathan Banks, and Nickoe Whitley

The Mullen/Malzahn/Meyer/RichRod style of spread offense does not work without a mobile qb. Combine that with some big ?'s at OT and inconsistent wr's and imo State will struggle on offense until Prescott takes over for Relf. As far as predictions I would guess anything from 7-5 to 9-3.

I'm feeling a 8-4 Peach/Gator Bowl type of season. 9-3 is very obtainable with our schedule if we have no major injuries. That would give us a possible Cotton bowl depending on how AU/Arky does in their season.

If we were running the same offense we did last year, I would agree with this. Russell is not an option QB, and it showed last season at times when he was asked to be. That said, we're not. We have changed the style of offense this season to the same pass-first spread that was used for Alex Smith and then Chris Leak. Mullen says he only uses ~20% of his offense in a given year depending on personnel, so he had the ability to adapt it to Tyler's strengths.

I agree that OT is a HUGE questionmark for us going forward. Receivers will be fine. They were visibly better last year with Russell on the field. We lose no one at the position, gain a 6'4 4* deep threat, and add a QB that can actually complete the passes to them...

Willing to bet that was an honest mistake... Everything else he said about us made sense and was reasonable.

I'm hoping they'll be dead from that gauntlet, and then they'll be focused on the Egg Bowl and overlook us.

I think it's resonable that Mullen will tweak the offense for Tyler. I doubt he keeps trying to run the read option with him back there at QB.
