I have no expectations that he would play this season, but I seem to recall that he started doing some limited practicing with the team in the Spring. Anyone have any updates on how he is recovering and where he is physically as it relates to his ability to play SEC football in the future?

I believe he's fully cleared to practice and play. It'll take a year or two to get back into playing shape, but I could see him competing in 2014 for sure. I'm really rooting for him

Cool. Did he take any snaps in the spring game?

No, he was cleared to practice a few days prior to the game, so he wasn't ready. But he did say he wants to compete in the fall. While I doubt he'll be ready by then, 2013 isn't out of the realm of possibility

I somehow ended up in the locker room after the A-Day game and he was chilling out in there while the rest of team was signing autographs.

I really feel uncomfortable saying this because of his privacy and that of his family but I have a friend who was taking his mother for chemo and he said he saw Shon in there too.

Now it could just be a routine checkup or for treatment. I don't know. I hope it was just them keeping tabs on him but I don't really know if that would happen at the place they do the chemo or not. I haven't heard anything else saying he's still doing chemo and the fact that he was cleared to play makes me think it was just a checkup.

Prob just a checkup. My dad's a doctor at St. Jude where Shon was going. The patients have to return for scans and things like that every so often after they finish their treatments.

My mom has had cancer twice and is just getting over the second time (this was breast cancer this time) and they definitely do check ups where they do the chemo. Here in Montgomery, they do chemo/pet scans/ct scans and even just have doctors visits at the cancer center. Doubt he's still in the chemo phase. But I'm not very familiar with leukemia

Good to go is the latest word. He's a solid 290 right now. Even money he'll actually take some snaps in OOC games this year. His cancer was one of the most curable types

IIRC he has been in the gym for a while now. Just not participating in contact.

For someone that has been through chemo, yea he looks very good

Must be an extremely tough kid

I've been pulling for this kid and I'm glad to hear he's recovering so well.

I can't imagine the hysteria that will ensue in JHS when that kid takes the field. WOW!

Instagram sucks. Technology has gotten so good that we now long for the days of grainy, blurry Polaroids.

I don't, but these intagram photos are just digital Polaroid knock offs and everyone seems to love them.

This. Just realized it was taken with instagram. I thought instagram was neat for a bit then I got tired of it

And as for the first time shon Coleman's name is announced before a game, I'm sure it will be a chillbump-worthy moment
