Nah. It was our first BCS loss EVER. The law of averages was on their side. It would have been extremely difficult to beat a team of their caliber three times in a row. They had all the intangibles, momentum, adrenalin, and revenge on their side that night.

Actually, we haven't lost to those people like that since 2002 (31-0). But we returned the favor in 2003 (27-3).
Of the four times we've lost to them since 2000, only 2002 and 2011 were ones we were outclassed in.
We've beaten them 9 out of 13 since 2000.

We will rebound.

Obviously doesn't know how LSU rolls... We're always mad and ready for a fight. Any Insult, perceived or actual is used to fuel the team....

That is a bunch of crap. One game in college football doesn't change an entire program.

LSU did it to Tennessee.... Twice....
But no it did not kill team morale, LSU is recruiting great this year and is still a loaded team looking to get better.
Many of teams listed were on a downward spiral as poor recruiting, key players leaving, coaching changes, changed their landscape.

You wish.

LSU managed to win the SEC Championship with poor QB play. Give LSU a reliable QB - jury still out on Mettenberger but he has to be better then Jefferson - and an undefeated season is a higher probability.

If anything, that loss to Bama is going to make this team hungrier to win it all.

LSU is going to be dominant again this year. John Chavis and an easier schedule ensure that. I could see them taking it all in Miami and exacting revenge on SC.

Oklahoma did it to FSU in 2000

The better comparison is FSU following their demoralizing beatdown in the national championship rematch against Florida. I seem to remember after that beatdown following the '96 season that FSU played in three more national championship games, winning one in '99.

Conversely, Florida didn't win another SEC title until 2000 and another national title until 2006. The better question might be what will happen to Alabama's program?

Yeah. Les Miles announced the other day that the 2012 season has been cancelled, and a decision is pending on future years.

Maybe the most lopsided championship game in college football history.

Yes, it was just like USC over Oklahoma, Florida over Ohio State, etc. Just like them.

You have to know the players, coaches, everyone affiliated with the program left the Super Dome that night totally demoralized.

Link?

Yeah, let's make a bet on that one, shall we?

There is precendent for one game changing a program's culture

And there is precedent for one win sending an arrogant fanbase of pussies into fantasy world.

Is LSU next? I tend to think so, I can sympahtize with the Tigers, and I truly hope we don't see a proud program take the easy route and fold.

We'll try to help you out on that.

What a jackass.

Lots of that wishful thinking going around. Don't bet anything important to you on that. As for the game; yes it was a bad loss. Worse championship game loss ever? Not even close.
You'll win a lot more money betting on the Tigers this year than against them.
