I remember that there were a lot of "8" signs that had been passed out for 8 wins in a row over Tennessee if Bama won. Late in the game when it seemed like Tennessee was a lock to win, the Tennessee cheerleaders held up the "8" signs and ripped them up. Shortly thereafter Bama mounted the comeback. The streak did technically come to an end but Tennessee didn't get the the victory they thought they had in the bag.

Thread hijack, but the 94 game (Manning's first in the series) was one of the loudest I ever heard Neyland. That was before the expansion.

Expansion? Didn't they just make the seats narrower by moving in the lines a little bit?

Yeah, ended a 30+ win streak. I think Tide lost another game or two afterward but at the time, it was pretty big deal.

Yeah, plus the entire second level of the North endzone

David Palmer, a wide receiver, played QB for pretty much the entire second half in that game. Barker was out with an injury and I believe Brian Burgdorf, our back-up, was also banged up or sucking it up or whatever.

I believe one Freddie Kitchens made his debut in the LSU game. He only played one series though.

I still have the PA announcer in my head from that game.

"Sherman Williams off right tackle for no gain."

"Sherman Williams off left tackle for no gain."
