It just blows my mind that with all of that money from WalMart, they haven't built something like a dental or vet school
The Walton money mainly goes to the Walton School of Business.

One of the reasons Bama was able to get Saban was that they were willing to throw the money at him AND they were so desperate that the boosters financing it were willing to give up their meddling rights. In 2007 there was a bit of the power struggle that still didn't want to give over control, and this is one of the reasons I never thought Saban would be interested in Texas. It'll be interesting to see if Arkansas does end up paying that, whether or not the politics will be tolerable.

IMO, our fanbase is reeling from the BMFP firing. They are grasping at names bigger than Petrino. IMO, I think we still go interim route and then hire in December. But, I'll have to wait and see if that holds true.
I agree, with a chance that they might hire Butch Davis.

Tennessee is probably going to be in that position next year.

Gruden is not going to f'n Arkansas. You guys are delusional.
Most of the Arkansas fans I've seen on here have been skeptical.

I don't shop at Wal-Mart because I always wonder how much of my purchase goes straight to Arky. I won't have a cent involved in Gruden's salary.

I don't know Georgie. Tough to doubt the OP when his screenname is Scoop.

I'm just surprised that someone hasn't said, even for business development, "states that want to be taken seriously have dental schools, and agriculture states have vet schools". I mean, even West Virginia has a dental school.

It will be interesting to see what Dave Hart does. He's never been involved with a major hire at either Florida State or Alabama.

Vol fans, if we do hire Gruden and you guys fire Dooley...I would march at the AD's house until he hired Petrino. He would have you guys winning the east immediately.
I would hate to see him back in the SEC b/c I'll always miss the guy, even if he had his issues. You would have a new fan if he was your coach.

Yep. It's the best thing that can happen to your program.

Tennessee will never hire Petrino.

Interesting. I guess the peeps putting up the money are the ones that want to call the shots, and that can cause some interesting power struggles when you got an administration set up in the University itself.

The Waltons don't even donate all that much to the Athletic Program anymore. Most of their money goes to academics and the Walton School of Business.
Do you eat chicken from Tyson's or buy goods shipped with JB Hunt? They are bigger donors to the athletic program than the Waltons.

I think they would keep their program in a lot of the same old toxic mess they are in right now if they did that.

I find that very unlikely that Tennessee would go in that direction. He can coach, but I can't see Petrino coaching at a major school any time soon.
