Did Butch Davis call plays? I'd want a good OC if he was the HC.

We lost Z because Gus left for Tulsa. So yes, he played a huge role in him not being a hog.

Both of Ziemba's parents went to Auburn. He was raised on that war eagle crap.

I've narrowed it down to three reasons based on the person.
1) Took Nutts side in the Nutt/Malzahn conflict
2) Not a fan of anything associated with Shiloh Christian /Ronnie Floyd
3) Pissed at the audacity Gus had to come back and recruit Arkansas when he went to Auburn.

All seem pretty petty and stupid.

Target 1 -- Chris Petersen - Fuggetaboutit
2. Charlie Strong - shrug
3. Art Briles - strong
4. Garrick McGee - will be fired in 3 years
5. Mark Mangino (for lulz) - no bueno
6. Jim Tressel - NOPE
7. NFL AC #1 (Perry Fewell) - wants NFL job
8. NFL AC #2 (Bill Musgrave or Winston Moss) - nah
9. David Cutcliffe - sucks w/o a Manning at QB
10. NFL AC#3 (Jim Caldwell or Jim Leavitt) - Don't think so
I still want my Bobby Petrino. There are some options, Long better not screw this up. - Let that go, bruh
ETA: I don't really consider Butch Davis, there has been scuttlebutt about him for years and never once been any evidence there was serious interest from him that I've seen. Don't think he wants to come back to NWA. - All that may change, chances to win there are greater now than ever

I don't want any part of the Gus/Nutt controversy ever touching the university ever again.
But that decision is a lot easier to make knowing that Malzahn has never been a college head coach. Also, I don't want his offense.
Are those stupid reasons?

People harp on that so much and that wasn't the reason he went there. In hindsight he made the best choice to go to Auburn. His mom for the longest time wanted him to stay home. Him and Gus had a great relationship and when he left for Tulsa, it was over for us.
Worked out for the best though, his Dad lost his job shortly after he signed as many did in 2008-2009. They moved to Nashville for work for a few years and will be moving back to NWA. They are a great family and very nice people.
I'm not doubting he was an Auburn fan growing up, he was, but during his recruitment for a long time he was a hog. His family was here and all of his friends were going to the U of A.
To say Auburn was in the lead the whole time and the reason being his parents is 100% false. They wanted Lee to make his decision and would back him the whole way, like good parents would do.
Some may not believe any of this and that's fine. It was weird cheering for another SEC team after my hogs of course since a good friend was on them. Auburn is a great place and would neve have visited if he didn't go there. Great atmosphere, got to be on the field before the Georgia game 2 years ago and wow, seeing the eagle land was a great experience. Got in the tiger walk and that was unreal. Couldn't believe how many people are in that.

I will concede that I am probably going to get killed for saying this, so feel free.
If I am AD Long, the first phone call is to Sean Peyton, and I make him the highest paid coach in college football. Not that far fetched to me, and if he pulled that off, recruiting is NO issue, and Peyton would win championships.
Side note: Please dont hire Sean Peyton
