t's a legit question he asks Sugatown. What is so glorious about 3rd place. Nuttsack won the west once and tied for 1st in the west 2 other times. Bobby, not so much.
Dude, come on. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see how much better this team has been the last two years than all but one of the teams Nutt and Danny Ford coached in the SEC.
He just happens to be going up against absolute juggernauts in Bama and LSU in his own division.

Personally, I think you are taking all of this way too seriously. The "integrity of the university" isn't going to be tarnished if Petrino stays. Everybody knows that football is there to make money, and nothing more. SEC football has never been an epitome of integrity, anyways.
Arkansas needs you to know that "integrity" needs to be put in quotes when referring to itself. Loooooolz.

I don't think Chesire's saying that at all. I think he's just saying that if the same thing happened at Bama, you'd see the same battle going on in that fan base as in ours.
I agree with this. I'm certain our fanbase would be divided just as Arky's is IF it was Saban. If it was a coach who had never won the division and the embarrassment to the university outweighed the positives he'd done for the university (which is the case with Petrino & likely wouldn't be with Saban) then we'd want that coach gone too.
Most Bama fans would probably want to keep Saban but would want to fire a coach with Petrino's resume (i.e. Mike Price).

Yeah what would happen if it came out that Bear Bryant was having an affair?

Bobby recruits like shite, and after this it is going to be a whole lot worse. Certainly there is a new unsung coach out there who is snart enough and hungry enough to make a name for themselves.

Arkansas also doesn't have 13 national titles. He is the best coach we have had in 25 years and whoever we get to replace him won't be nearly as good.

You Hogs better bite the bullet on this one if you want to stay relevant.

Nothing is glorious about 3rd place, but look at the conference compared to when Nutt was a coach, look at the direction of our program under Petrino and look at what he's done coaching through his career...
Nutt took us to 2 SEC's yes, but the West was down, East was King and we wern't going to do anything but out motivate teams

The worst part of this situation is that affects the fans the most that have been rejuvenated and have put a lot of their hard earned money into the program. I understand it is tough. The AD is in an extremely hard position. I just feel that Arkansas is bigger than Bobby Petrino. Many of you feel differently though.
The biggest problem I have with what happened is that I wouldn't want a man that pulled what he did as representative of my alma mater. You can call me a bible beater or whatever but I don't consider my self that. I am a proud Catholic and believe in the sanctity of marriage. But this situation is more than just infidelity. It is lying to your boss. It is having an inappropriate relationship with a subordinate. It is a black eye on the school whether you like it or not.
I'm not trying to flame Arkansas fans. I'm not trying to personally call you out Cheshire. I just think you guys deserve better than staying all in with a man like Bobby.

If Mark Richt had done this exact thing, they would've fired his arse yesterday. Too bad it wasn't.

Funny Bama fans are funny. Your boy Nick just hasnt been caught. I got enjoyment at watching Nick smile like a possum when he was chatting with the young ladies at LSU.
IMO, Petrino is just as good as Nick on the opposite side of the ball. If Arky could put 2-3 top 5 recruiting classes together with him there, they would be in the NC mix. Especially if he found a DC like Chavis.

Actually, it would appear Bobby recruits like a champ. Of course, that only applies to women whose employment he is in control of, who are half his age with daddy issues and gold-digging tendancies, who also have low morals (and standards) and no respect for the sanctitiy of marriage.

All Petrino has to do is prove she was qualified fo the job. That will be a piece of cake.
How is this worse than the Pinkel DWI deal? Pinkel was actually endangering other people's lives by driving drunk and he got a slap on the wrist.
If Long was going to fire him he would have done it last night.

I think many people are confusing the issues.
The issue isn't so much that he was having an affair. While that's certainly part of it, the bigger issue is that he lied to everyone about it and admittedly was trying to hide it (including his bosses).
Covering it up was the bigger mistake than the affair in-and-of itself.
