Honestly, until UK proves they can't fulfill being No. 1, they should be No. 1. These things work themselves out. May as well honor their record and results now.

That's why Collegiate Baseball is my favorite poll.

You sir are both a gentleman and a scholar.

Agreed, a lot of baseball polls are pretty stubborn with movements.
Like when it finally took a sweep of then #1 ASU for Baseball America to put us at #1 in '09.

I know you and Doc agree... I mean, damn, how can they tout UK as having a 4 RPI, an unblemished record and a rag like BA vote Rice (et al) better than UK?
Redic.

unblemished record
That's the key. I don't care if they were playing sisters of the poor for most of the time, 21-0 in baseball is fricking hard. I've seen our really good teams get blown out by Centenary.
Then ending on a sweep of the 2x national champs is just impressive. I wish we could bring Collin Kuhn back for the KY series.

Why on Earth would your one loss prove you're better than their ZERO?

Unblemished record on top of a top 5 RPI. His point was that unlike football, baseball will work itself out. KY and FL will play each other to settle any dispute. Until then just reward the impressive with a temporary ranking.
No knock to FL, y'all have a sick squad.

Exactly. UF is tremendous. Not sure why he would be offended.

Florida is a better team, but UK deserves the number one ranking

quote:Not only was that streak from the 2008 year, but we didn't win the national championship in 2010. That's just lazy.
behind only the 23-game streak from 2010 NCAA champion LSU
ETA: I do agree that UK should be #1 or at least top 3 at this point.

Not offended at all, and like you said these polls will work themselves out....means very little right now.
Just curious why after 20+ games you think 1 game makes such a difference. Is Florida's 1 loss to CSF worthy of making them not deserve the top spot? Where do you take strength of schedule into effect?

My doubt in the poll relative to UK's ranking humbles me as well, you know. I'm admitting UK should be ranked ahead of Arkansas...
It's the right play.

I want to wait and see how we do vs Cinci and whether we take the series vs. the Vols.
I have seen us start off hot and then go into the tank in the SEC...but, this year, instead of "welcome to the SEC moment" vs Arkie where the 1st hitter for the hogs hit the 1st pitch dead center into the CF wall and it rattled into a triple and it went down hill from there.
I was amazed what I saw from the Deck this weekend, but no way, we should be ranked in the top 5...top 10 is more realistic!
