Ole Miss, which has landed a pair of former high-profile QB transfers in recent years, may land another soon. Danny O'Brien, the 2010 Freshman All-American and former ACC Rookie of the Year, will take an official visit to Ole Miss this week, a source has told CBS. O'Brien will be joined on the visit to Oxford by Max Garcia, the Terps former starting left tackle, who also is leaving the Maryland program. The two former starters are expected to be in Oxford from Tuesday to Thursday. In 2010, O'Brien had a 22-8 TD-INT ratio while helping lead Maryland to a 9-4 record and a top 25 finish before leaving the Terps program after the tumultuous first year of the Randy Edsall Era. The 6-3, 210-pound O'Brien, a pro-style QB who still has two years of eligibility remaining, is on schedule to graduate with a Business degree in the spring and would be eligible as a graduate transfer this fall--muchlike former N.C, State QB Russell Wilson was for Wisconsin this past year. However, unlike many of these recent graduate transfer cases, O'Brien has two years remaining, not just one. Even the SEC's new rule restricting graduate transfers would be open to O'Brien because he has two years of eligibility remaining, not just one season. Garcia, who has two seasons of eligibility remaining, would have to sit out the 2012 season. Ole Miss, which just finished 2-10, suffering its worst season in school history, has glaring needs at both positions. New coach Hugh Freeze, who replaced the fired Houston Nutt, brings an up-tempo scheme. At Arkansas State last fall, Freeze's offense was No. 16 in the nation in passing and No. 31 in scoring. The Rebels were 107th in passing and 116th in scoring, but if there is a strength in the program, it is that they do have some athletic young wideouts. In 2010, the Rebels offense was sparked by former Oregon QB Jeremiah Masoli, who was cleared to play immediately because he had graduated from the then-Pac-10 school. A few years before that, Ole Miss landed former Texas QB Jevan Snead, who led the Rebels to back-to-back Cotton Bowls. Snead was actually reeled in by Ole Miss offensive coordinator Dan Werner, who happens to be back in Oxford working as Freeze's OC. OM?
They cant get a look from a better program like Toledo, Southern Miss, or heck even a Arkansas State.
Kids must have baggage.

Pretty out of character, as Ole Miss never relies on transfer quarterbacks.
...but seriously, O'Brien would be a pretty huge get for Freeze.

When was the last time Ole Miss developed a QB? Why do they keep picking up "free agents" instead of developing a kid like Mackey?

Looks like they found the LOOPHOLE to the Masoli rule.
Im sure Freeze is getting him the info he needs to get his Master's degree in Parks and Recreation Management.

He loves trolling State and OM fans.
He is probably an LSU sidewalk fan up in the Delta who doesn't go to or never went to school at LSU.

One of the few cities in Mississippi I have never been to or even through. I once went to Greenwood and that was as far in to the Delta as I could handle.

I'm pretty sure the OT Garcia will visit UGA this weekend and he attended Buford High School. Would be a really nice, unexpected pick up.
