I don't think of Bama fans as overly delusional. I know we have (occasionally) been accused of being (slightly) focused on our past and (moderately) arrogant.

Isn't this part of being a fan? Even when losing, doesn't every fan base dwell in a "when we win the lottery" mindset? When winning, don't we all say - "I told you so"?

I know exactly one delusional Gator fan and I think he's just plain bat shiite crazy.

He claimed we were going to beat Bama and LSU even when Brantley was injured. I told him he was crazy. He denied it. Guess who was correct.

This. I think Bama fans get accused way too harshly for being "delusional". I'd argue that we're way more arrogant than delusional. I look at delusional as expecting things that are totally out of the realm of possibility like Ole Miss making it to Omaha, Florida banning jorts at football games, Auburn fans not obsessing over the REC, sidewalk Alabama fans not embarrassing the school, etc.

I remember all the claims back in the mid 2000s that Bama fans were delusional for thinking we could compete year in year out in the SEC or that we could pull a big time coach already at a high profile job. There was an assumption that we were a run of the mill has been program that should be happy with Shula's 7-5 seasons. I guess Alabama fans were right after all.

I'd think that would be true of the delusional fringe of any fan base.

I guarantee we have our share of the b-s-c types you noted, but they more likely than not tend to be our "Wal-Mart" fans, if you know what I mean (bandwagon hoppers with no actual connection to the school).

Very few actual jorts at UF games. They are also our sidewalk fans for the most part.

Where I sit, I've never seen jorts. Heck, I've never seen jorts tailgating either.

Having said that, I see lots of jorts from UF/UG sidewalk fans in Jax for the WLOCP.

UG and their red and black stripped overalls are the worst IMO.

I don't think we're delusional at all. By and large most UGA fans realize exactly what we are: a top 10ish team historically with the money, recruiting ground, and resources to really be elite but we aren't there yet. Sure you have some fans on message boards who think we'll never lose another game again for the next 50 years, but those are balanced out by the ones who think we'll never win another one. I think in general we're a pretty even keeled group with high expectations and rightfully so, but aren't delusional.

From my experience here the Arkansas fans base is the most delusional.

Ours has its moments as well
