Ole miss drops to Miami Ohio because of errors obviously, however should ole miss fans be concerned with young pitching especially in relief. Bats seem plentiful but is Lafferty, OM pitching coach gonna be able to put a solid bullpen squad together to be able to assist an average starting pitching squad?

At least you are not Alabama baseball.

To answer your question. Bianco = Stansbury.

Oh God no

Bianco is a competent coach, unlike Stansbury. He usually under achieves, like Stansbury.

Bianco = Several Super Regionals (Sweet 16)
Stansbury = 0 Sweeet Sixteens
Stansbury = 0 Sweeet Sixteens

Right now? Fyuck no. It's the 3rd week of the season and we lost our 2nd game last night. We've got some talent coming out of the pen, just gotta get everyone some experience in these early weeks bc this aint nothin but preseason.

In no way was I defending Stans or hating on Bianco. I think it is fair to say that they both have under achieved with the talent that they have had.

No. Why? It's the 3rd week of the season. I notice a lot of Ole Miss fans get like this. They panic after any loss.

05 was the only year that we were just overly talented and we lost our super regional to the national champion by one frickin run. In 09 we won the SEC and lost the super regional because of Evan frickin Button's error from second and because of Scott Bittle's injury. If he doesnt get hurt that team would do damage in Omaha. Bianco, unlike Stans, develops talent. Stans just recruits extremely well and the players never get better. No one thought Pom would be worth a frick after his freshman year where his era was in double figures. Just about every player under Bianco has signicgantly improved year after year. The problem lately has jsut been talent. That problem seems to be fixed and by the end of the year we should be a very dangerous club. Next year is the year though. Omaha or bust

I'm not freeking out or anything but I'm not sure we have the pitching to be a great team. I felt like this before the loss. I think we have good pitching but in the SEC you really need at least a shutdown Friday guy because everyone else has one. I think our bullpen will be fine, we have depth just not one or two studs like usual. Hope to be proven wrong

This is exactly right. Baseball
Is different than basketball and football. One game during the regular season doesn't mean much. It's baseball. It happens. You lose games and look bad sometimes.

Our pitching staff has one veteran with experience and thats our closer. Out of our weekend rotation we had a combined 2 starts, and none of those were weekend starts. Out of our bullpen we have not a single player with experience. Our pitching staff is as green as it possibly can be. I have faith in Laff to give our bats a chance to win.

Even though it's only the 3rd week some weaknesses are probably starting to be evident. I know I see them with LSUs team. But they can improve and hopefully they will.

Teams that have been to Omaha since Bianco took over Ole Miss baseball: #hailstate, Arky, LSU, Tennessee, USCe, UGA, Florida, and Vandy.
Ole Miss, Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky are the only teams that have not.
I don't think anyone would put those other programs on the same level as OM, so you would have to say that he has under achieved.

State's prob this year is opposite. I think we have good enough pitching to contend with anyone in the SEC. I think our bats will struggle all year.

Pitching wasn't the issue last night. We had 3 errors in 2 2/3 last night and gave them like 6 outs in the 3rd where they put up a 7 spot. I think we came into the game overconfident and had to be brought down a level. As long as we win the series we will be fine.

They still had like 14 hits. I know errors play a role in how a pitcher performs, but our pitchers got rocked last night

I'll admit Wahl didn't have his best stuff but we win without the errors. As bad as Bobby looked he did his job to do enough to win if we don't give up that 7 spot due to errors.
