I'll update this thread as more are released, but here are some new bracket projections as we begin the final week of the regular season. RPI rankings from live-RPI in parentheses in the first post.
College Basketball Insider
Kentucky (2) a 1 seed
Florida (18) a 6 seed
Vandy (23) a 7 seed
Alabama (27) a 9 seed
Miss St (65) a 12 seed
Mississippi St is one of the last five in, LSU (68) appears to still be the 9th team out. Weakest bubble ever is at least keeping a slim hope alive for LSU.
Warren Nolan
Kentucky a 1 seed
Florida a 5 seed
Vandy a 6 seed
Alabama a 9 seed
Miss St a 12 seed
Mississippi St is one of the last four in. LSU the third team out.
ESPN Lunardi
Kentucky a 1 seed
Florida a 4 seed
Vandy a 6 seed
Alabama a 10 seed
Miss St a 12 seed
No mention of LSU in his last eight in. ESPN hates LSU.
CBS Bubble Watch
No bracket update yet from CBS, but in the latest Bubble Watch he appears to have taken Alabama completely off the list of "bubble" teams. Mississippi St towards the bottom in his "on the fence" category and LSU as the very last team getting mention in the "work to do" field.
ESPN Bubble Watch
Vandy moves to "lock" status and Alabama to "should be in." MSU still on the bubble and no mention of anybody else.
Fox Sports Bubble Watch
Same deal as ESPN, except they clearly think Miss St is on the wrong side of the bubble.
CBS Bracket
Kentucky a 1 seed
Florida a 5 seed
Vandy a 7 seed
Alabama an 8 seed (and off the bubble)
Miss St a 12 seed (last four in, play-in game)

frick a 9 seed. We need to take care of business against Auburn and sit everyone against OM to secure the 10.

What does the 10 seed get us?

honestly we'll have 'a chance' if we win out and win 3 in NOLA. good luck w/ that

Not a 1 seed in round 2 is I'm sure where he's going. I say let's win out and beat Kentucky in NOLA and get a 7 seed

I pretty much wrote off LSU Saturday but if the bubble is really that weak maybe winning out and getting to the final would be enough.
The problem is Tennessee would actually be a solid win for LSU but RPI-wise it's really not.

per Andy Katz:
quote:
Credit Anthony Grant for the way he handled the suspensions. Despite the disciplinary actions, the Tide have moved up into the top four with three straight wins against Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi State. Alabama is now going to go to the NCAA tournament, barring a complete collapse. JaMychal Green certainly got Grant’s message, and the Tide will go forward without Tony Mitchell, who remains suspended for the rest of the season.

You're right about that, Tennessee has been playing pretty solid basketball for the most part as of late. But their RPI still hovers around 100. I think everybody wrote off LSU after Saturday, but when you look at the first few teams on the outside looking in, it really looks like a bunch of fringe NIT teams in most years.

8/9 seed gets the #1 team in the next round. 10 seed gets #2 seed in 2nd round.
ETA: Projected St Mary's first round, Ohio St for us in 2nd round. (We are a 10 seed)

I think at this point the only way we'll be sweating it out on Selection Sunday is if we lose two of our next three.

I must be brain dead because I thought we only had 2 games left. Who else do we have besides Auburn and Ole Piss?

I just think we need to avoid a disastrous Auburn loss. Win Wednesday and I think we're fine regardless. And the way we're playing it wouldn't shock me to go to Ole Miss and win. Its not like we NEVER win at the Tad Pad, it just seems that way. We blew them out during the Pearson year.

Hopefully Washington is an 11 or 12 seed.

Clearly. But that's why I said the only way we'd be sweating anything is if we lost two of those three games.
