Too bad the best team didn't win.
I still don't understand why Arkansas was disqualified, who gives a frick about rules for intramural hockey.

The ACHA, the governing body of non-varsity college hockey teams, has suspended the Arkansas Razorback men's ice hockey club team from further postseason play for the remainder of the 2011-12 season. The action was finalized on Thursday based on the discovery that a member of the club team had falsified his academic transcript, giving the club and league the false impression that he was eligible to compete. The student admitted the violation when confronted.
The hockey club won the Southeastern Collegiate Hockey Conference West Championship title Saturday for the third consecutive year. It was scheduled to continue competition for the conference championship before Thursday's decision.

not SEC but SECHC. FWIW.
Alabama wins the South Eastern Collegiate Hockey Conference championship.

Ten schools of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) participate in the SECHC. The conference is split into two divisions, along the same lines as the SEC. Teams play at least two games against each opponent in their own division and rotate opponents for the other division. Teams of the SECHC also play teams from other schools and other conferences.
The ten schools are
Alabama
Auburn
Arkansas
Florida
Georgia
Mississippi State
Ole Miss
South Carolina
Tennessee
Vanderbilt.

According to the sechc website, Alabama went 10-0 in conference while Arkansas went 6-4. That means that even if Arkansas had been eligible for the tournament, they would have been a 3-seed while Alabama would have been a 1-seed (due to clinching the west). Am I missing something?
