It may be interesting to see what happens with the younger Tannehill. It's rare that you have a Peyton/Eli situation but it does happen. Also his Dad played at Tech and certainly Big Spring is Tech territory and he may want to do something different than big bro. I wonder if he is as big of a student as Ryan though? Ryan had something like a 3.7 in Pre Med. A&M has a huge academics edge over Tech.

My wife's family is all from Coahoma just outside of Big Spring as well, I'll have to see if I can get some intel.

Isaac Savaiinaea and Justin Manning were the two highlight visitors this weekend for the Arkansas game.

Looks like TCU is rising on his list as well. Seems like he has a new leader every week. TCU/A&M/OU battle for sure.

Not many targets left (and not much space either)

Manning is probably a battle with TCU and Perroni at 247 said "I certainly like Texas A&M's chances, as of today." This was Friday I think and he went to the RR Raping so no telling if OU gets back in the mix.

On Savi, he stated after his ND visit that "A&M leads" though he's still committed to Stanford so I'm unsure if he understands the process

RSJ will be at the LSU game as well a host of other top prospects. Things look good on that front as well.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised at this point if we close with those 3 and a few JUCOs.

well couple more big 2013 names making it down for the LSU game

LB Mike Mitchell will be there on an unofficial. No telling where his head is as every site claims a different leader

LB Jordan Mastrogiovanni will also be there this weekend. He's committed to OU but has been a long time top target for us. He's kept in touch with our coaches but no idea if he's really in play. The sooners don't seem particularly worried

On the bad...

DT commit Isaiah Golden mentioned to one of the sites that the only school that can sway him is likely LSU as he grew up an LSU fan. However, on the good of this, I don't think he's on their radar at this point as like us, they don't have much room left.

We've stopped recruiting OG Caleb Benenoch. Lot of static on this but I think it's just a case of a kid that is enjoying the process and is going to take it to the last day and us being tight on ships, we can't wait around. So he no longer has a committable offer. The problem as I see it is if he did commit, we don't trust he'll shut it down so we can't use up the space.

JUCO DE ZaDarious Smith is not visiting this weekend as originally planned. Supposedly going to try another weekend

SEALY's Ricky Seals-Jones is still fence sitting - tomorrow's game may help pull him our way (hopefully) or he may get sucked up in that PURPLE quicksand - adding one of the Nation's top receivers would be HUGE for us.....

Seals-Jones could probably start at QB at LSU right now.

YESSIR!

Texas A&M offered 2014 Gilmer LB Josh Walker. He committed. Other offers include tu, OU, Tech.

Not really. I expect he'll go to Baton Rouge this week and then make a decision

It's hard to see him going to LSU at this point, except maybe for basketball. He is a much better fit offensively at A&M.

he's a midterm guy which gives us 6 now. We probably have room for 3 more Feb commits and 2 more Dec grads (JUCOs).

I expect we'll close with Savi, RSJ, and Manning. I'm not sure what happens if all three of those and Mitchell or Mastro wanted to commit. Maybe someone grey shirts.I think we're going to take a JUCO OL and S. That's my guess at least.

For 2014, McKinney was swaggercoptering around Houston tonight. He hit the Pearland-Manvel and La Porte-North Shore games. We have 2 Manvel kids (Garner, Parker) for 2013 already and we just offered a 2014 kid (TE/OT Koda Martin) this week.

-- 2014 La Porte LB Hoza Scott (considered top 3 player in state and a likely 5*): "That's huge. That just shows me how much they want me." We're obv in good shape there and most expect him to commit after the high school season.
-- prob the #2 LB in state for 2014 is North Shore's Zack Whitley so good game to hit. No idea where we stand but I've heard he likes us.
-- another 2014 comment with no real relation to anything else, Safety Edwin Freeman officially named us his leader. Not sure on his commit timetable

We offered UT commit S Kameron Miles today and may just be laying the ground work for when they sack Dooley, but his comments on twitter make me think he was waiting on our offer so he may well flip in the next couple of days.

Appears to be a reaction to missing JUCO target Justin Cox but I don't think he's a midtermer and no idea how we fit him in. Regardless, we need a safety in a bad way so hopefully he flips shortly.

ok, got a bit more scoop on this today. Apparently he was #1 S on our board but told us he wanted to play QB. UT told him they'd give him a shot at QB and he had it in his head that he could do that. When he told us (and LSU) this we both backed away and never officially offered. Realize he is rated in top 15 in Texas by everyone but doesn't have an offer from us, tu, LSU, or OU. This is why.

About a week ago he called our coaches back and said he was open to coming to A&M (we've always been his favorite) as a safety. They reevaluated and worked the numbers to see if they could fit him in (we may have passed on Cox which is why he committed bc the timing was right after Miles reached out but my guy wasn't sure on that).

We officially offered and he will visit soon at which point we're pretty positive he commits.
