You got me. Petrino sucks at developing the skill positions. Just ignore that the same guys have been playing for 4 years and 3 are about to be in the league.

Why on earth would any non-Arky fan start a thread like this? It's just going to lead to Arky chest thumping and incessant flaming.

If the QB is looking to go pro then yes. If they want to win championships then no

I understand that.
I am not bashing Arkansas or Petrino.
The question is Arkansas the BEST school for a QB?
I think they are one of a couple good options in the SEC but in no way are they hands down the BEST option.

yeah he obviously should've gotten Casey Dick in the NFL

Arkansas is a wonderful choice for any high school QB.
But.......Arkansas is not WR U by any stretch of the imagination. AR did not have a single WR on a 2011 NFL roster. However, Florida had 6 WR's and LSU & Georgia had 4 WR's on 2011 NFL rosters.

You all are amazing.
Im not going to flame you. I thought it was an interesting question but the reality is there is only one right answer I suppose.

there is no hand's down best option... the SEC is not a conference for QB's.

It's fine if you don't think Petrino is the best, just don't try to support your argument with the fact that Arkansas doesn't have lots of QB or WR talent in the NFL yet. We haven't run the spread forever like Mizzou.

How many pro QBs played under Petrino?

I dont think Mizzou is the best option either.
I think UGA is to be honest but whatever.

Alabama has 3 current NFL QB's. (All backups, I know)
eta: Croyle begat Wilson begat McElroy. Each was the successor for the other. McCarron will probably make a roster.

It's not that you disagree it's that the reasoning you provided doesn't make sense, his first recruiting class is draft eligible this season.

Houston Nutt offenses are so wide receiver friendly. duh

It does makes sense.
There is no history or basis to claim that Arkansas is the place to go for QB's yet.
That sure might change in a couple of years as I think Petrino is the real deal in that offense, but asking that question today, my statement supports my opinion.
ETA: From my experience watching spread QB's come out of the Big 12 to the NFL, there is no doubt that the system at UGA is more conducive to prepping and developing a QB for the NFL.

Every team has a quarterback that does stuff. Arkansas can't get over the Alabama and LSU hump. They will never finish higher than third in the West.
My memory is a little fuzzy but didn't Arkansas beat LSU, finish 2nd in the West and go the Sugar Bowl last year? Either you are just stupid or well, just stupid.

Arkansas under Nutt is completely different than Arkansas under Petrino. I'm assuming the OP was asking the question assuming we were talking about the program today, not 5 years ago.
