Wow, shocking final score.
Pope is a bit of a beast though. Not sure how he played tonight but he's the least talked about great freshman in a class of good freshmen.

But at least Arky's a Track and Field school!!!..........wait.....Texas A&M has now joined the league.....does Arky have a strong intramural program?

For the record, I have a little part of me that emphatizes with Arkansas on this. They desperately wanted the Son of Nolan to come home and for it to be 1994 all over again.
Its not gonna happen. Anderson is not the guy to bring you all back to the glory days.
We've lived it with him already. 40 minutes of WTF. The full court pressure means defensive lapses turn to back court cuts and layup drills. Offensive sets and fundamentals are non existent. Run, Jump, Shoot is written on every page of the playbook. Blue chips will not come to play such a chaotic unorthodox system. Like the football Run and Gun, its a gimmick that has outlived its time.
We've seen before our eyes this year what an off the shelf person who is an actual basketball coach can do, given shelves stocked with basically all guards. Improvise, adapt, overcome and motivate. The result is obviously greater than the sum of what he was left with. This is not magic guys, its coaching 101. Fundamentals, discipline, cohesiveness, these things matter. Anderson was not able to sustain a system like that here.
Early returns are not good. I don't wish bad for you, but based on empirical experience here, I sure as shite would be selling ARK basketball futures, not buying.
Someday if you're right we'll admit it.
Mike took UAB to a Sweet 16 in his second year and ya'll to an Elite 8 and you have never been to a Final Four....EVER.
I'm not sure how much weight a Mizzou fan's basketball opinion goes and clearly y'alls football opinions have to be taken with a grain of salt.
Like it or not, we have more experience with Mike than y'all. We hired him away from you and he was ready to leave.
Suck on Haith.

Did u not just admit he had to clean up the mess left by Snyder? So which way are u arguing here? Anderson sucks and Snyder left him a great program, or Snyder sucks and Anderson turned shite around and got Mizzou the farthest they've ever been in the tourney?
If only the world was so simple, so black and white.
Snyder started off well. He lost some key assistants that helped compensate for his short comings. Then there was the Rickey Clemons debacle, which was the downfall.
Snyder was a better recruiter than Anderson. There is no question about that. The problem is he ran the same unstructured offense as Duke, without the elite level talent.
Anderson did improve Mizzou. But Anderson's teams got progressively worse following the 2008-2009 season. When he left he was looking at a disaster of a recruiting class. He had no one committed. He refused to recruit local talent like BJ Young. This put Haith in a terrible spot.

Exactly. We don't have a single freshman on this team. That is what is screwed up.

What? Man you guys have no right to be so arrogant about basketball.
You have never won anything, but all of you act so entitled.

Anderson quit doing his job on the court and off the recruiting trail, the last year. Shocking but true, he took the paycheck and mentally checked out for Arky long before he left.
Bitter? initially but Mizzou fasn are realists above all. Having been kicked in the balls more times than almost any fanbase around, we have developed an ability to quickly let shite go (except for kU of course) and realize its a new day. Haith gives us faith. Top 5, can't complain

Ok, what does that have to do with anything? Please tell me how Anderson not getting a single commitment in his final year at Mizzou has anything to do with what happened 20 years ago?
Fact: Haith took over a program late in the recruiting cycle without a single commitment.
Fact: Anderson inherited a load of recruits from Pelphrey.
Pelphrey left Arkansas in a better position for the future than Anderson left Missouri.

Well you could also say that because of what Anderson left Mizzou there is a better chance they will have recruiting success for the future, no?

Been too busy with classwork to post but...
BOOM!
We're still several seasons away from even being decent IMHO but I gotta celebrate a win when I can!
