Where was all this talnet last season. Blake went down and so did the passing game with him. What we have is alot of potential.
Kinda hard to shine when we don't throw a ball to anyone except Blake, and when we do it's a damn bubble screen.....that's literally the only passes our QBs completed.

I'll never understand why Malzahn would run plays over and over again regardless of whether they worked or not. I'm trying to recall a single big play we had on one of those screens last year.

They worked in 2010. Hence why we kept running them last year.

It also helped having Blake as a slot WR though, thanks to Adams and Zachery on the edge.

I think he was paying homage to Tony Franklin.

I think the worst was lining up Dyer in the wildcat though. I'm pretty sure it worked once. And Malzahn's refusal to run slant routes was slightly irritating.

Two of my biggest beefs with Malzahn was him running the zone read with goofy arse, slow, white guys at QB when you know 99% of the time they are going to give it. And last year he just seemed so predictable. He's the type of coach that makes his money off great play-calling. I can't count how many times I guessed a play correct before the snap. I know he was limited in what he could run last year due to the personnel and o-line but damn, try something creative.

Yeah, the lack of over the middle passes was one of the biggest weaknesses of his offense. It would typically be wide open with all the 7-8 in the box we were seeing last year as well.

Exactly. It was mind boggling at times. He did recruit some serious offensive talent though (getting back on the thread's topic ).

Call me crazy, but the more I look over this class, the more it seems like a top five class for you guys. If you keep Foster and pull in Montravius Adams then it's about time people prepare their anuses for Auburn.

By far the best defensive class I've seen Auburn have since I started following recruiting about five years ago. Just an ungodly amount of talent on that side of the ball in this class. We needed a class like this badly.

Aaron Suttles says he hasn't heard anything about this rumor and he did an interview with Bo today, so it sounds like there isn't any truth to it.

It's just that guys like Lawson, Liner, Adams, Foster, etc. Those are the real keys to this years entire class, and Aubie could pull them all in. I'm trying to figure out why these guys don't wanna play for Saban damnit!

Probably because we're so loaded that most of em wouldn't start til they were juniors. They can go to Auburn and start as freshmen probably.Still a very impressive front 7 class if auburn gets all those guys signed.

Adams and Foster would definitely be starting by year two.

Foster is the only one I could see doing this.

I disagree ^, but still Auburn isn't nearly as loaded at LB and DL as we are, and recruits do pay attention to depth charts.
