Fwiw my point is just that MSU has a just as good, if not better, argument as other teams to claim a NC for either the 1940 or 1941 seasons

Not really. There were three undefeated teams ahead of you in the poll.

Mississippi State struggles to win championships because they have, historically, been the #2 school in their state, they are surrounded in every direction by states and schools that have rich sporting tradition in many sports. They're not really a sporting 'destination.' It's like asking why Boise or Pittsburgh or New Mexico State don't win anything.

I always recognized Arkansas at the 64 champs. The AP was all politics back then and extremely biased toward Bama. Arkansas 64 claim is more legitimate than Bama's claim.

Then please explain the final coaches poll ranking Bama at #1, ahead of Arky. Just politics, right?

Don't be obtuse - you know there's favoritism towards historically good teams. Notre Dame is still getting voted into the top 25 every year and it's been decades since they were consistently decent.

The funny thing is LSU has won the whole damn thing just 2 times less than all those appearances. Crazy to think about it in those terms but I think we as LSU fans almost take it for granted now because their was so much success we forget how good that run was.

Don't hurt his feelings. He is from Arkansas. He has enough to live with just carrying that monkey on his back.

Then how do you feel about '59, '60 and '62 for Ole Miss?

Well to be fair Arkansas won their bowl that year and went undefeated that season while Bama did not.

They are legitimate claims, those were some good teams. Didn't one of those teams have a defense that never allowed a touchdown the whole year?

We were the Cowboy's. I'll tell you what, that #40 was a beast at linebacker.

When I was like 11 the chiefs only allowed 1 first down the whole year, and it was against my bronco team on a fluke center-sneak play.
