Harbaugh. Had success at Stanford and in the NFL. Succeeding at LSU and Bama ain't as impressive as succeeding at Stanford.

You bring Harbaugh to Alabama and he'd have the same success as Saban.

Harbaugh wouldn't lose a game at Bama. Hell, Les Miles could go undefeated every year at Bama.

Did not win a NC, let alone 4. Do not even put him in the same sentence as Saban when talking about CFB success

College Head Coaching stats:

Jim Harbaugh:
Win/Loss-
58-27 (68.2%)
0 National Championships
2 Conference Championships (Both Pioneer Football League Titles)
3 seasons w/ 10+ wins.
2 losing seasons

Nick Saban:
Win/Loss
154-55-1 (73.3%)
4 National Championships
5 Conference Championships (4 SEC, 1 Mid-America)
7 Seasons w/ 10+ wins
0 losing seasons

Is this a debate?

It's got to be Harbaugh. He turned Stanford into a national power and is tearing up the NFL.

Not a slight to Saban, but he's accomplishing what he is at a historical power and failed in the NFL.

You are operating under an absolutely ludacris assumption of ceteris paribus. Those stats aren't taken in context and are very misleading.

Any good coach should go undefeated at Bama every year. With the easy scheduling, the refs in their pocket, and all the top SEC officials being Bama homers, they have all the advantages. Saban is just doing what any good coach SHOULD do at Bama.

Are you on crack?

Any good coach should win 3 of the last 4 national titles at Alabama when Alabama is playing in the hardest conference in America?

Some of you people will go to insane measures to discredit Saban's accomplishments.

It's clear a lot of you are primarily CFB fans and aren't knowledgeable about the NFL.

a .500 record for a coach in the NFL is about the norm and not a "miserable failure." <--- some of you like to use the word miserable for some reason.

Anyway, I feel like there are a lot of people trying to convince themselves in this thread.

I guess it's your coping mechanism with reality. You say it enough, you hope it becomes the truth. But I'm no psychologist.

Yeah, you've lost your mind.

Saban is just as good of a recruiter as Miles and infinitely better at gameday coaching.

Dude, if JH came back to CFB in the SEC, he'd dominate. Just saying. That's not taking anything away from Saban.

I never said the word miserable, but his stint in Miami was not a success (last in his division and 6-10 overall his last year), and he abandoned the job to get back into college and away from the NFL, so what would you call it?

They are in context.

Both stats are from their head coaching in CFB.

Saban @ Toledo, Michigan State, LSU and Bama
Harbaugh @ San Diego and Stanford

Pretty black and white.

Facts are facts. Sorry you don't like them.

Put JH at LSU, Bama, UGA, Ole Miss, AU, or UF and he wins multiple championships.

Eta maybe even Arkansas. And definitely aTm

Your stats would hold water if Stanford was in the same situation as Alabama in any way. Do you really think having success at Stanford is identical to finding success at Alabama?
