RPI is all about playing a lot of solid RPI teams, not necessarily just a few games against top rated teams. Of our 11 games 8 were against top 100 RPI teams. Just taking a quick look at Florida's schedule, it looks like they've played two really good teams, a solid team in A&M, and then not much else. Our OOC SOS is 14; Florida's is 172.
I hate the RPI fwiw. But it's just a game, you have to manipulate the schedule. Not that it will really matter to Florida (except for seeding), they're a lock and their RPI should be pretty good at the end of the year.

This. It's also the only time RPI actually means anything when the committee starts seeding.

This is true. People dogged Alabama's pre-conference schedule last year but it was like Florida's this year in that we played a couple of very good teams but even some of the big name teams on the schedule were awful and therefore our pre-conference SOS and RPI last year was awful.
Here's the Pomeroy power rankings which are respected a make a bit more sense:
