Where does the average SECr poster see the Aggies in 5 years?
Simply trying to gauge the opinion of our new brethren. I can see us anywhere from challenging for titles to the Mississippi schools new buddy.

4th in the West
I see no reason to believe why A&M shouldn't be an Arkansas. Slightly better probably.

depending on how good Sumlin is, you could range from Arkansas to Mississippi State.

still scrapping around with the Mississippi schools in the west. I think you'll be better in a bout 10 years. but not in 5. Need some recruiting, facility upgrades, etc.

I agree that our recruiting MUST get better. We have a top ten class as of today, but will probably be top 15ish when everyone else fills up. I want to believe that Sumlin will be a great recruiter and the early response from kids has been positive but he will also have to win some games he shouldn't to keep kids interested. 4-8 isn't sexy no matter what.
We are working on some serious upgrades to facilities as we speak. New workout facilities, dinning halls, updated locker rooms etc etc. Kyle field is due to get an expansion starting in 2013.
The right steps are being implemented but it's all for shite if you don't win any games. Sumlin has a tall order infront of him. If he has any sort of moderate success next year I will be very pleased. if we go sub .500 (which seems like a very real possibility) we will be in trouble.
First impressions are everything. Great coaches reveal themselves quickly 9 times out of 10.

That will hurt. Especially with LSU and arkansas trying to steal your recruits. eventually our winning streak against you guys will start affecting recruits decisions.

If aTm can't find a way to settle in right there with Auburn and Ark if not slightly above they should just quit and merge with UT-A

The cellar, or close to it.
LSU, Alabama, and Auburn run the West, with Arkansas probably remaining in the top 4 year in and year out as long as Petrino is there.
A&M won't consistently crack the top three, maybe ever.

We are 5-6 against LSU since 2000 and 8-11 vs. Bama...Of course, Bama had to forfeit one game, and vacate two others for cheating.

A&M is one of the wealthiest universities in america. It will always be a contender & a recruiter. In 3 years i can see them 3rd in the West, 5? Who knows. 3rd, maybe 2nd in their best year ever. They wont be a miss state. I guarantee it buddy. They will be an Arkansas/Auburn by 2013(end of season).. LSU and Bama stand in their way though at the top - a tall order for anyone.

Middle of the road, some years better some worse, and looking for a new head coach more often.
I honestly think that MORE Texas recruits will be willing to leave TX now to go to other SEC schools because they know they will get a chance to come back into TX and play games in front of family and friends.

All we have is A&M's history in the Big 12 to go by and SC and Arkansas to go by. This is the biggest challenge A&M Football has faced. I don't see how you can win enough games to win the west anytime soon.
