Is this the biggest game ever for BOTH teams?

...A rematch against a conference rival for the national championship?
Both teams have played some big games in their history, but how can it get bigger than this one?

03 against Oklahoma was bigger for us.

Not for Bama, i mean it's just another day for them duh.
This game is about the same as playing Georgia Southern.

09 Texas was bigger. We had not won a national title in 17 years and that was our chance to prove that Bama was more than just our Dad's team.

Can you people ever have an intelligent discussion or is everything a big sarcastic response? Do you have intelligent responses or are you trying to cover up your ignorance with quick quips?
I think this is a pretty big game for both schools. 03 was huge for LSU as was 09 for Bama. I think this game surpasses both since its not only for the BCSCG but it could have future implications in the BCS games and this conference.

it's a really big games, as well as being pretty historical. this game may be remembered more for being the nail in the coffin for the bcs rather than who won.

for the exact same reasons, I would put LSU/Oklahoma in 03 as biggest for us.

1992 against Miami will always be the biggest game Alabama played to me.
This year is a pretty close second though, make ya feel better?

Game that popped in my head. Bama coming off probation, our first national championship since 1992, the first BCS title; and if Bama had not won the SEC we would have broken our record of an SEC championship every 10 years.

Honestly, "This ain't your daddy's team" applies to both schools, but it's only a positive for one of us. Bama has been below average the last 30 years, by bama's standards. 30 years. Most people here are not even that old.
Over the last 10 years, LSU has been enjoying its greatest era ever. No, it's not your daddy's bama, or your daddy's LSU. And that sucks for bama, and is awesome for LSU.

every bama fan will claim no, this is just another game, it's part of the process, business as usual, we're new money, they're old money, etc.

To consider the implications you mention do make it bigger in ways but they also take something away from Alabama's perspective.
It's a bigger game for LSU since they have the most to gain or lose: playing for an undefeated NC and to finish what some would consider the greatest season ever.
For Alabama, it's a huge game since it's playing for the National Championship against LSU but in all honesty the NC Alabama would win wouldn't be quite as sweet with 1 loss as the undefeated ones like 2009 and 1992. . . of those seasons the Miami and Florida in the SECCG games could rightfully be considered bigger.
Added:
Kansas St v Arkansas and Oklahoma St v Stanford both may have a larger impact on whether the anti-BCS voices remain so loud.

it def is for LSU, i understand bama fans downplaying the game because at best they will finish the season 1-1 against LSU... As for LSU winning this game is a program changer they would have an undefeated season beating bama twice in one season with one of bama's best teams ever. it is an exciting time to be a Tiger

The WORST part of this game is that the SEC actually has to have a team lose in the BCSNC

Posted on 12/6/11 at 7:12 pm to Clockwatcher68
The only way it could be bigger is if we were playing Auburn.
