You're in the quarter basically and yes it's a short walk unless you're a total fatass.

Yes it is. Have fun and enjoy the city. Also within walking distance of Harrah's.

You will have a great time. If you are in town for a few days check out the WWII Museum and points Uptown to get a true feel for NOLA. Don't get caught up in the overrated hype that is the French Quarter. If you want some places to eat, post on the Food Board. Again, thanks for coming and have a blast.

It is. As a Food Board snob, check out Casamento's on Magazine Street Uptown. Best raw oysters and fried seafood on rhe planet.

Call your hotel or check with the concierge. New Orleans is built on tourism and the city is very prepared for big events like this. If you haven't been to New Orleans in 20 years, you are going to love it. I have been to the last two BCS chammpionship games in New Orleans and had the time of my life. There will be only 75,000 in the dome for the game but I am gussing over 100,000 LSU fans and more than 60,000 Bama fans in the Quarter. My only caution is remember that the later it gets, the more potential for problems......ie; way too many drunk people in too little space. I find it best to party during the day in the quarter and then after dinner go to the casino. You'll save a lot on beer as well during the day. It's going to be a blast! Have fun.

Garden District is very safe. It is also has some pretty great places to go around there.
As with any New Orleans trip, you need a list of restaurants to hit. Don't wing-in there, have a plan you'll eat like a king.
