Body of work? This isn't the NCAA basketball tournament.

A side-by-side comparison of your season to Okla St. and theirs is more impressive.

I think that Bama could beat Okla St., but teams shouldn't be rewarded for playing pussy schedules. And that is what's happening with Bama.

What? OSU happened to play a week later than Alabama. They played the same amount of games. OSU getting 2 off weeks and playing on championship saturday really really helped them. It hurt Alabama and in reality it shouldn't have.

They could schedule all D2 schools and still get in the game

There are two schools of thought. Since LSU was the unanimous #1, the decision to find #2 is determined by:

1. The best team (presumably Alabama)
2. The most deserving team (debate between Alabama and Okie State)

Enough voters either subscribe to #1 above or felt that Alabama was more deserving. If the voters had determined that Okie State was more deserving, they would have been selected. It would not have been a tragedy.

When a team schedules shitty teams then yes, it should be held against them. Alabama didn't do that. Where did OSU travel to play anyone OOC? Yes, Alabama's schedule wasn't the best. But it wasn't for lack of trying.

This is true. Actually I think it is Texas running off part of the conference, thus taking away an extra official championship game that screwed them. An extra official CC game win probably would have edged bama out.

Texas...

But a case could have been made for OSU to be anywhere from 2nd to 5th or 6th...?
How? Please give me a good reason why they should've been ranked below 3rd.

If OSU played in and won the Big12 Championship they would have been in the NC. It isn't their fault but that's the truth.

Agree. Not to mention that it was probably the idea that Texas (or Oklahoma) would be good best to get in (again) even as a non-conference champions that prompted the BIG12 to vote down Slive's +1 and conference champions proposals.

That doesn't mean all that much

What happens if Bama loses and OSU wins?

Anyone who thinks Stanford should be ranked about OSU could make a great case. It is pretty unknown who is better of the two. Most THINK Alabama is better than both. VT would have had a case if they wouldn't have lost. Some people put weight in winning an extra game in the Conference Championship. Neither Alabama or OSU won that or played an extra game. VT losing help OSU and hurt Alabama.

What has Stanford done this season to merit being ranked over Okie St?

And it doesn't matter what happens in the Fiesta. Bowl games outside of the national championship aren't always won by the better team. It's a crapshoot.

No. They can't. Who has Stanford beaten? Who has Okie St beaten? End of argument right there.

What? The NCAA doesn't look at the best team or historic powers when they decide who goes where. The BCS selection is a little different and always has been.
