Surely the voters and talking heads at ESPN did not see this game. How could they have missed these things:

1) Georgia Southern ran for more than 300 yards with a ypc of over 7 yards

2) Alabama kept its starters in the entire game

3) Alabama ran up the score by passing for a TD with a minute left

4) Alabama's greatest of all-time defense gave up 21 points to a team that is given how many scholarships?

5) This game was at Alabama

To me, this game is more shameful than OK State going on the road to a decent Iowa State team and losing in 3OT after the refs made a questionable call on a OK State field goal that looked good on replays. That field goal would have won the game for OK State in regulation.

yes. That Offense is hard to stop without enough and the proper amount of preparation.

GA southern rushed for over 300 yards I think.

Ga. Southern gave Miles and Co. the blueprint to victory (again) Jan 9.

LSU 28
Bama 14

Hmmmmmh, kinda puts LSU's output to shame, doesn't it?

Mark Richt, taking notes?

Just because GSU is an FCS doesn't mean they are terrible. Last I checked sagarin who does all of Division I rankings together (200-250 teams) GSU was in the 70's, obviously above a ton of FBS teams.

I called Bama getting more of a game than they bargained for because I know GSU ball really well. We run the triple option at GSU with a QB transfer from Georgia Tech (Connor Shaw's older brother, actually). We are an extremely efficient offense and Alabama had a short week to prepare and they hadn't faced a triple option offense since the 1990's. It's not an offense you only want a week to prepare for.

For those that don't know, GSU is a great team in FCS, 9-2 overall and the 3rd overall seed in the playoffs. Not excusing Bama's performance, but if you knew more about the opponent, you would of saw this game coming. The game was closer than the final score indicated too, Bama got some nice calls to go their way, then they ran up the score at the very end of the game with starters playing entire game.

First of all, lol, no it didn't. And you're an idiot, Bama won by 3 touchdowns, Okie State lost, period.

Oh, and not that it matters as only a butthurt Okie State or delusional LSU fan would think this matters, but Bama didn't play all their starters all game, as their first, second, and third string nose tackles, among several other starters, did not play in the game at all.

Thanks for bumping your shite thread again though.

My favorite conversation of the holiday season (I was in Tuscaloosa visiting in-laws), was centered around GSU. They were all convinced that GSU was the greatest FCS school of all time.

Like, not jokingingly saying this in a way that let you know that they knew they were just making excuses. They told themselves after that game that GSU would compete for a BCS bowl if they were allowed, and nobody in the country would hold them to less than 21.

They were also bragging that GSU was ranked in the AP poll before they played Bama. They received 1 vote. As in, one person (i'd love to know who) put them at 25 on their ballot. That's all that was needed apparently.

eta: thanks funky

OSU lost. You seem to ignore that little fact. They didn't lose to a NC caliber team, they lost to Iowa St.
