oh yeah how'd miles do at ok st and saban at mich st without a plethora of in state recruits?
:theoryboomed:
one big difference, both schools Saban and Miles coached at were little brothers in there states(OU vs Ok St and Mich vs Mich St). Arkansas is the flagship of arkansas, if not the entire south, last time I checked. So youre comparing apples and oranges.

He really needs to win some sort of championship (the Boot doesn't count) before crowning him.

Okie state is little brother in OK but we battle them for tons of recruits, they also have much more access to TX recruits than we do.
and do you really want to compare instate talents of kids in Arkansas and Michigan? theres enough up there to go around.

Arkansas really isn't that hard to recruit to. It is just an excuse perpetuated by Houston Nutt to keep his job for 10 years.

It's still too early to tell, but I would definitely put him at the top with the likes of Miles and Saban.
I mean seriously...he has took a completely bare Arkansas team that was in the shitter because of our previous coach, and has them in the top 3, with a good chance of playing for the national championship if they can win this coming Friday.
2008: 5-7
2009: 8-5
2010: 10-3
2011: 10-1 so far
...and there is a chance we may even be BETTER next year. We return the best QB in the SEC, the best RB in the SEC from last year, will have a more experienced o-line, and will still have a slew of receivers.

they don't produce a ton of in-state talent consistently. not like LA, Bama, GA, etc

No, win a SEC or NC then you can start talking about best coach in the SEC.

that's not fair
vandy could have the best HC in the SEC, but he'd never get to that ridiculous success level
does arky have the same resources as LSU, Bama, Auburn, UGA, or UF?

come back when he wins a NC...or even a SEC championship....or hell, even the SEC West.
atleast Nutt got y'all to the SECC game

I don't know about the best but I wouldn't trade him for anyone.

Look at their schedule this year. How tough is that for any coach??
You can't have it both ways. Either the SEC is the best conference, or it isn't and Arkansas' SEC schedule is weak.
