if they win versus OU.

They are only 0.025 points behind Bama in the Peter Wolfe poll and are ahead in 4 of the remaining 5 as it is.

It is now down to the voters' will if OSU beats OU.

OSU = likely 7 wins against teams with winning records (if they beat OU)

Bama = likely 3 wins against teams with winning records.

How dare you say that! Scared of Bama, omg omg! No way a #2 team is jumped by the team that will be #3 because that has NEVER EVER HAPPENED EVER, especially in the final poll that determines the BCS championship game! NEVER! SCARED!

God I hate intentional ignorance. As for the OP, I agree that there's a good chance. Computer will be ahead of them, and there will be a chunk of voters that put OSU #2 strictly to spite a rematch.

may not come down to the wins but rather the losses?

The #1 team couldn't beat bama in regulation.

and Ok State's loss... well

OSU = lost to an unranked team late in the season.

On the road in double overtime in extenuating circumstances. Unranked or not, OSU winning will have the following over Bama:

Conference champion
More wins over top 25 teams
More wins over winning teams
much stronger SOS
Loss on the road not at home
Played in the highest rated conference in all of the computers.
Will have 2 wins over top 10 teams in OU and KSU.

It's funny how some of the non-LSU fans on this site really don't understand how the BCS works, in all aspects.

Because of 2003 and 2007, and the craziness at the end of both seasons, I think LSU fans are a little more knowledgeable than the average college football fan when it comes to the BCS system.

If Oklahoma State wins out, they will be #2 in every single computer. It would only take a few coaches/Harris voters in each poll to vote OSU #2 to make this thing extremely close.

I'll be interested to see how the coaches' voting turns out. One would figure that all 10 coaches in the Big XII would vote Oklahoma State #2 at the end of the season, assuming they win Bedlam. That's potentially a big boost for the Pokes right there.

You're a dumbass if you think OSU has any shot of jumping Bama if Bama wins out.

They are,but like any other fan, would never friggin admit it. I'll say again,if LSU plays some other team for the title,I'll be pulling for them. However it seems every post I read almost is BAMA can't or won't make it,don't deserve it. I highly doubt their fans were saying the same thing when they lost 2 games,repeat,2 games in 07. We take what we can get, bottom line

It won't matter though. They lost to an unranked team.

yea, and in 2007 LSU also won the SEC Championship...and every other team except Ohio State had 2 losses as well

everyone always says "2 loss National Champions", FYI your team had a shot at the same championship but lost the same amount or more games

its not like LSU had 2 losses and jumped ahead of all these 1 loss and undefeated teams
