So he actually took the time to meet with Arizona's AD. In light of this, at least maybe he will sit down and let us pitch him the job. And if he does, is there any chance he actually takes us up on it?

Doubtful now that the "failure to monitor" hammer dropped.

Hell to the no.

this makes no sense. he actually quit twice because of his health. so he's going to get back in and risk his health? i'm not sure i believe the meeting was about him being interested in the coaching position. sometimes, ad's ask coaches to get their opinion about someone the coach knows.

I could easily see him coaching somewhere outside the SEC again. I think the stress of competing in the SEC year in and year out is what led to his health problems. There just isn't that same kind of pressure in the Pac-12 and definitely not at a place like Arizona.

Objectively, would YOU leave Florida for any reason and then return to Ole Miss?

If it's the best gig available and you're too impatient to wait another season, yes.
But he'll be at Ohio State next season. Book that.

Follow up question: Under what circumstances would it be the best gig available?
I don't know what he's going to do, or if he'll even return to coaching, but I'll bet my life he won't be at Ole Miss next season.

The guy just said that he will be at OSU next year. He isn't as dumb as the OP. Chill

Oh, I dunno, how's about now.
Penn State's about to get the banhammer (would anybody be shocked if they don't get the death penalty) and Neuheisel seems to be safe at UCLA, so what job is better? Zona? You think it's any easier to win at Arizona than it is at Ole Miss? You think a guy with SEC experience wouldn't rather stay in the southeast?
Truly, the Ole Miss gig is the best open gig right now. Once OSU opens up that will change.

There's that, and you get an SEC salary.
Nutt's salary was something like the 15th highest in the nation at one point. He was getting a top-25 type of salary to produce bottom ten results.
