Dont flatter yourself. I wouldnt call bama a rival, just the biggest stepping stone this year (More like a doormat than stepping stone).

I think you're confusing big SEC games with rivals

My cousin goes to Vandy and she is just foaming at the mouth to get you guys back on the field!

Your rivals are Auburn and Tennessee. The rest are just big games if both teams are highly ranked. Hope this helps.

I don't consider Bama a rival. Most LSU fans think Saban is a POS, but without that I don't think there's any special hatred for Bama. You're just another team we play. I don't think LSU has any real rivals at the moment. Around Baton Rouge there doesn't seem to be any team that's particularly disliked or anything.

Bammers are like dementia patients. They can remember moments in history but forget some of the big periods. They forget the Mike's Era (Dubose, Price and Shula) and Fran, Perkins,Curry Era and think their entire history is Bryant and Saban. They believe that the definition of rival is that other fanbases hate you.

I know people get pretty excited to play us - the fact that there are lots of guys who used to coach at LSU fuels that some. LSU's resurgence (and now Bama's) coupled with Florida's fall and UGA and Tennessee's struggles have all contributed to this.

There was a time that the top 4 teams in the East looked down an all but 1 or 2 West teams (whether that was Auburn/Bama one year, LSU/Auburn the next, etc.) - now it's flipped - LSU, Bama, Auburn and Arky now think we can mop the floor with the East - our top 4 only has conference losses to each other - even expanding that Auburn's only has the loss to Clemson, outside of the top 4 of the SEC-W.
