OM Spirit writer Yancy Porter throwing out some wild coaching candidates

In his chat the other night Yancy Porter, Ole Miss' Scout writer said "Don't be surprised if Ole Miss goes after John Gruden, Tony Dungy, or even Pete Carroll (he isn't happy in Seattle)
His minions ate it up and now think they are bringing in a NFL coach to Ole Miss.
I know there are some realistic OM posters on here, what do you think about Yancy's wish list.

They will hire some shite coach and we'll do this all again in three years. It's the Ole Miss way.

What would it take to get lane kiffin?

I agree with this to an extent, but I do think they'll probably go after a pretty highly thought of coordinator of some sort.
It will be a splash with OM fans.

I like the way he thinks. Go big. Don't hire some unproven OC or a washed up coach from a division rival.

Pete Carroll would fit right in in Mississippi.

About like Ed Orgeron did

Of all the OM recruiting "experts", Yancy has got to be freaking out the most. He just lost his meal ticket that gave him unchecked access to the program. I imagine he is just hoping they hire a coach that has the same attitude towards the rivals and scout guys and not one that's shuts them out. Would definitely be a tough change on his business model for sure.

OM needs to give up the crackpipe dreams of hiring a proven HC & go hire Malzahn today. Passionate as hell & a great football mind. Best of all he would prob take the job without hesitation.

No different than the LSU retards that periodically wack it to pie in the sky coaching possibilities.

DC, what candidates do you like?
I keep hearing Hugh Freeze's name as well as Larry Fedora.

I'd take Fedora over Freeze. Winning in CUSA > winning in the Sun Belt.
I'd love to welcome Freeze back as a highly-paid OC though.
Names I'm hearing which I support are Mike Leach, Rich Rod, and Gus Malzhan. Kirby Smart also intrigues me, but I really want a guy who can recruit and coach an offensively oriented team. That's why Leach and Richrod are tops on my list, assuming they can hire a decent DC to make up for their inability to coach or recruit defensive players.
ETA: A lot of people are saying Kirby Smart's the guy. I personally doubt it, but I think Smart as HC/DC with Freeze as an offensive coach similar to what he was under Ed Orgeron would put Ole Miss in a position to recruit well and become the more competitive program it was in the late 90's and early 00's.

There is at least a 2 or 3% chance that a Gruden would come to LSU. As opposed to Ole Miss which has a negative chance of landing a name like that.
