I don't think he was rattled. He just physically can't leg a ball that far. I didn't want him to kick the first one, much less any of the later ones.
Yeah that's what I gathered as well...I think the announcers mentioned this, too.

I wish someone more knowledgeable than myself with the kicking game can explain how this kid got a scholarship and was recruited by major BCS teams.

But I still think we played the better game on the field

This thread makes me smile

frick you bro. I call it the way I see it. I have said on this board many times that I think les miles is a great coach, I just don't think LSU's win Saturday was as much of a product of any brilliant plays on les's part (aka last years game) as it was Saban just having a downs moment that lasted 60 minutes of football plus an OT.
Yes, les did the better coaching job last night, I just feel it was more Saban's fault than Les's brilliance this time.

Yeah I don't understand that. I mean 52 is difficult, but a big SEC team like Alabama should be able to get some of the best. The distance should at least be there...

The same exact play was a TD against Florida last year, and would have been a TD again this year if not for the pressure.
That's a HUGE if...and one that Saban should have considered knowing the talant level of LSU's dline (not to mention the awesomeness of LSU's DBs) and the gimpiness of his WR. I'm glad he made that play call.

So has your kicker struggled before the LSU game?

Way to be mature.

So you are saying Les outcoached him? I'm glad we've gotten that out of you now.

Yeah maybe so, but your clear lack of giving credit in your previous post was pretty sad.
frick you.

Funny. Every team we've beaten this year has said the same thing. LSU sure has gotten lucky, I mean everyone we've played has beaten themselves and LSU had nothing to do with it.

Why not stop playing the "IF" game? Somehow playing "IF" over and over again isn't like talking to a 12 yr old snot-nosed nephew? Probably not. It's more like trying to reason with a 5 yr old snot-nosed redheaded stepchild.
I'm not playing the if game. There are bad playcalls that work because they are executed perfectly by the players. Conversely, there are great playcalls that don't work because they are not executed perfectly. I'm just pointing out that the Maze pass was of the latter variety.
Why is this so difficult to understand?

Hell yes. He has no distance to his kicks. I don't think he's had a touchback this season. There was a reason I almost had a conniption when he lined up for the first FG...I thought this is either a miss, or a poorly timed fake.

Nick's frick ups doesn't mean he was out coached..durrrrr

So Bama's play selection on O and wanting to get points with FGs had nothing to so with LSU? All poor decisions on Saban?

I agree with this 100% given the pressure LSU was bring on the edge all night, the level of play by their secondary, and add to it the fact that Maze had a fresh high ankle sprain, that was just a bad call in that situation. Was great against Florida, but not smart with the circumstances of Saturday night.

Actually, no one has said this.

How do you explain the fact that Maze hit him right in the hands?

until bama gets a kicker who can kick off to the end zone and a fg kicker who he trust (if you have 2 fg kickers you have none),their special teams will get them beat.
See sat nite.
