If a conference has a conference championship, then a team that does not play in that championship is not eligible for the National title game. Look it up.
Which means Alabama would have to kiss Arky and Ole miss and hope for LSU to have back to back losses.

Actually, its entirely possible if Alabama wins out and LSU drops one to Arky, we very well could be ranked higher in the BCS. Which, if I recall correctly, would mean we would go to the SECCG in that scenario.

This.

Exactly so that means you would have to be Black Bear and Hog fans for the next three weeks. Barring those losses, then no way a rematch would happen. It's in the rule books.

We don't need you to lose to both. Just one

This, again.

Wouldn't both guarantee you guys an in rather then a dicey Ark win?

I'm pretty sure your BCS ranking has nothing to do with it. That's only in the Big 10. In the SEC I think the first tie-breaker is head-to-head, and the 2nd is division record.

Nuh uh. In the event of a 3-way tie its highest BCS ranking. So if arky wins out and beats lsu, Bama would probably be ranked highest. Which means we go

I think this is true only for a 2 way tie. A three way tie is the team with the highest ranking in the BCS.

Nope. You just made that up. The only conference that uses the BCS ranking as a tiebreaker is the Big 10.
Here are the SEC tiebreakers in the event of a 3-way tie.
Three or more-team procedure
1.(Once the tie has been reduced to two teams, go to the two-team tie-breaker format.)
2.Combined head-to-head record among the tied teams.
3.Record of the tied teams within the division.
4.Head-to-head competition vs. the team within the division with the best overall (divisional and non-divisional) Conference record and proceeding through the division. Multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last.
5.Overall record vs. non-division teams.
6.Combined record vs. all common non-divisional teams.
7.Record vs. common non-divisional team with the best overall Conference (divisional and non-divisional) record and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division.
8.The tied team with the highest ranking in the Bowl Championship Series Standings following the last weekend of regular-season games shall be the divisional representative in the SEC Championship Game, unless the second of the tied teams is ranked within five-or-fewer places of the highest ranked tied team. In this case, the head-to-head results of the top two ranked tied teams shall determine the representative in the SEC Championship Game.
eta: Okay, actually, the SEC uses the BCS ranking as the 8th tiebreaker, but it would be nearly impossible for it to ever come into play.

You're kidding right? LSU played a tougher schedule and beat Bama at Bama. Where in your mind do you think that would justify Bama being ranked highest?

in a 3 way tie, the BCS is used to determine the top 2. If the top 2 are within 5 spots of each other, then head to head is used.
LSU would have to lose to Ark then drop below them in the BCS. Not gonna happen. If LSU loses a close game, they at worst drop right above Bama or below Bama and still above ark.
that would mean the head to head between Bama and LSU is used.
If they did drop below Ark, then Bama goes.
Ark basically has no shot as they would have to hope both Ark and LSU are higher than Bama in the BCS.

Nope. I don't know where you guys are getting this from.

No I am not kidding. Alabama is at number 3 right now. If we win out and lsu loses to arky it is not out of the realm of possibility for lsu to drop below Bama in the rankings

Yes, but if LSU managed to lose the voters would still take time to realize we actually beat y'all

Here's a link to the actual tiebreakers so everyone in this thread can stop being ignorant:
Official SEC website
eta: I guess you can't link directly to it. Just type in tiebreaker at the top right in the search bar after you follow the link. It's the first hit.

Maybe our AD and Nick Saban could use the old "We are undefeated in regulation" speech to campaign for votes.

If LSU only loses to Arkansas, and Arkansas wins out, it's possible for Bama to go, but it won't have anything to do with the BCS ranking.
