Probably depends on what happens with Goldman, Evans and maybe even other players

Well we would love to have him..

I think Alabama is still evaluating him. It seems to be one end of the spectrum, or the other, with these big NGs. Not all of them are Terrence Cody.

Exactly. Also JUCO kids will not come in unless we think they can play right off the bat and the talent level is so much higher than when Cody came in that it's just tougher. I think McCullers comes into play if Goldman and Evans are a no go and then we probably have to miss at some other high profile guys too.

But Alabama is going to be less choosey at NG in the 2012 and 2013 classes. We're razor thin there once Chapman graduates. Brandon Ivory will be a redshirt sophomore in 2012, and Darren Lake will be a true freshman. Maybe Jesse Williams moves inside. That's it, until someone else is added to the 2012 class.

yeah, I definitely think Jessie Williams moves inside. I could also see Dial or Fanning adding depth there.

Not true. McCullers is a take regardless of what happens with Evans and Goldman. Kirby Smart was at Georgia Military College this morning visiting with him. He has a spot if he wants it.

I disagree. With only 6 or 7 spots left I can't see us taking McCullers if Evans or Goldman commit. That would mean 3 DTs when Ivory and Fanning are both young players at a position that you only play one at a time. That being said, I don't think Goldman or Evans will be in this class so he very well may be.
Kirby being at his college probably speaks more to keeping in touch than anything else. Most of the other big name players we are still on will be in the house next Saturday.
Quick question for anyone in the know on McCullers: He is at a military college. I'm assuming this is like Hargrove and he'll come in with full 5 years to play 4 status. Is that right? If so, I think his value is higher because then he's not a juco and he has a LOT of work to do on his stance and coming off the ball

I hope you remember me. It's been two years since we met at Sey's.
McCullers has a spot. Trust me. He weighs 370lbs, but carries it like a 330lber.
We are dangerously thin at NG, something McCullers would cure. Alabama is not recruiting Evans or Goldman at that position. It's one or the other for a DE spot in our defense. If anything, Fanning would keep one of them from coming, not McCullers.

One other positive I forgot to mention about McCullers is that he will enroll at his school of choice in the spring, something Evans and Goldman can't offer.
I may be wrong about this but I think he has 3 years to play 2.
OT, but how is your daughter doing?

I definitely do man. Wasn't sure if you remembered me cause I was much more of a lurker back then but i've stepped up my posting on here. How's your little ones doing?
I will defer to you on this one since i'm just predicting with numbers and you have some real conviction behind yours. I saw tape on him before the year and his stance and explosiveness worried me. That being said, you can't teach size and this staff turned Cody from a 400 pound blob into a NFL NT in 2 years. It would be worth the risk, especially if he has 4 years

She's great man. I know she was just born when we met so she's two now. She's a handful, but you already know how that goes
Posted on 10/28/11 at 7:15 pm to Sandkhan
Well I have 3 now. I married a fantastic woman since we met and between the two of us we have 3 great kids. Nothing beats being a father.

McCullers could play with more leverage but that's a coaching issue, not talent related. Enrolling in the Spring will do wonders for his technique.

That's fantastic news. I'm really happy for you man. You're situation definitely was in my thoughts and i'm happy to hear that things are going better.
We should keep this up. Every 2 years we debate a recruit. Last time I think it was Kenny Bell, lol.

Hey, now, we both have to admit that Kenny Bell has turned into a pleasant suprise this year.
Posted on 10/28/11 at 8:24 pm to TideSaint
He's been fine. Probably right in the middle of what you and I expected, haha. Not sure we couldn't replace his production with DeAndrew White and Christon Jones and avoid the embarrasing social media related spelling errors though

Yeah, Kenny is not the second coming of Shakespeare.
