Does anyone have the stories of every sec team and how they got their names? I was at a sons of the confederacy meeting years ago and remember some guy telling the story of every team. Anyone know? It was really pretty cool

Not bad at all, just a bunch of old men showing you how to trace your roots past the deep south and told a bunch of stories.

The Fighting Tigers were a fearless group of fighters no one wanted to mess with. They were roudy, drunk, few piss bombs, and evidently fought with great passion.

But other than that, has anyone heard these stories. I remember almost every team had a story like the Bengal tigers where named after the brigade in new Orleans because they fought like wild tigers.... Is it to late and I'm not making sense???

To be a part of the sons of the confederacy is not the same thing as wearing a white hood at a clan meeting dumbass.

Kentucky was not part of the Confederacy, and the Wildcats does not come from a Confederate story.
They got the name after the head of the military department, told students in a chapel service after a game that the Kentucky football team had "fought like Wildcats."
