Maryland's offense was rate the 2nd biggest dissapoitment by this writer, noting
"...Danny O'Brien came into the season as one of the most promising young QBs in college football (22-8 TD-INT ratio as a freshman in 2010) but now looks completely lost. O'Brien has a 4-6 TD-INT mark and was benched after going 1-6 last week against Ga. Tech. O'Brien was sharp in last year's West-Coast style offense. In Edsall's new spread under Gary Crowton, the QB has been a mess. The Terps who were 9-4 last season and 29th in scoring and scored over 40 points five times last season, are 91st in scoring.

I blame Les. It's clearly his fault.

Kind of surprising actually. Crowton's history points to one or two solid years at every job before a steady decline.

LSU is a close third, IMO.

It's funny because statistically, while we've improved on offense, it hasn't been a drastic increase numberswise, yet just by looking at the product on the field it feels like a drastic improvement. There's just so much more cohesion with both the execution and the feeling of having a legit identity.

Yep, it's amazing what an offseason of proper coaching can do.

You will be surprised our offense has gotten a lot better but I guess the last time you saw our offense was in BR last year.

From 86th in the country in total offense to 84th through six games this year.

Lots better.

It is night and day from even last year - the offense isn't up to the level of 2007 yet but they are coming along so much better than I thought they would

Playing the vaunted defenses of Oregon and West Virginia is skewing the stats, brah.

This isn't moneyball doofus, stats don't tell the whole story.

If you can't see that the LSU offense is significantly better than last year then I don't know what to tell you.

He has always had a upperclassman QB in that first year or two.

Then comes teaching a young QB the ropes and the shatting of beds begin.

Oregon's D is ranked 83rd. WVU's is better, at 18th.

Bama has faced Penn State's D (4th), UF's (11th), and Vandy's (21st). Of course, LSU can also count UF in their total, but still...

I don't get your point.

Not all of us get to play the little sisters of the poor to inflate our stats resulting in overrated rankings.
