But a neutral field may be worth 3-4 points.

You guys wouldn't rather see the best two teams battling on a neutral field over an undefeated team taking on a 3-loss team?
but it would be a REMATCH
no 2 teams in the same division can both go undefeated

Did you want to see a Tennessee vs. Florida rematch every year from 96-01 (except 99)? The idea is dumb.

Scared to leave the state of GA?
We can't win a national championship outside of NOLA

But a team could pull of a narrow victory with home field advantage.

If they were the best two teams in the conference, I'd want to see them play on a neutral field.

nope you get one shot
you shouldn't have to beat a team twice, especially a really good team.
home field advantage is all psychological. the fields are the exact same size

So you'd rather a 3 loss USCe or Florida have a rematch against BAMA or LSU? what if there were 3 regions like the PAC 14 was proposing?
Posted on 10/1/11 at 10:24 pm to Chaz95
actually, to correct the thread title, the BCS championship should be the two best teams, and that's LSU and BAMA.
I am cool with the SEC east champ being USCe or Florida.
It may be difficult for LSU to beat Florida twice.

I think you should be the conference champion to qualify to play for the best in the nation.
Posted on 10/1/11 at 10:30 pm to Chaz95
Not necessarly. I actually think the two best teams may both come from the West.
Posted on 10/1/11 at 10:34 pm to Chaz95
So the NFL should do away with the NFC and AFC too?
Posted on 10/1/11 at 10:37 pm to spslayto
No the championship should be east vs. west but i could get behind the locaton of the game moving.

No sir. They have playoffs.
I just think the conference championship should feature the two best teams in the conference.

How hard do you want to make it to win a National Championship
With Media Darlings like Boise State who are going to run the table,
you are telling me you think Alabama, should have to beat LSU not once, but TWICE... just to get to play for a National Title?

I think the winner of the toughest conference (SEC) should automatically get into the NC game.
Posted on 10/1/11 at 10:42 pm to LarrySellers
The ONLY reason we have an SEC Championship game, is in the event that 2 teams from opposite divisions who didn't play each other both end up with the same record
Everything else is has already been decided on the field through division play

Well if you can guarantee that, maybe I'll buy in
But your idea makes no sense as things currently are. Oklahoma or Texas wont even have to play in a championship game...
once less chance they'll lose
