Wonder what Danny Sheridan sees in MState vs. LSU???

Greetings.
When listening to Danny Sheridan on the Feenbum radio show this week, I was very surprised to hear him pick the Bullies over LSU. And it wasn't just a "point spread" pick either; he said that he thinks that MState will actually win the game.
Considering the amazing amount of football talent that is on LSU's team this season, I can't quite understand Sheridan's pick. Yes, the Bullies really should have beaten the Cajuns in 2009, and MState is now playing *much* better since Mullen took over the head coaching job.
But one of the factors that I always examine when trying to pick a winner is each team's previous game. And in State's case, they played a really big, hard-fought emotional game against the Boogers last Saturday & they really should have had tied the game right at the end (I still can't understand why the Bullies' BIG & athletic QB didn't take a flying leap into the endzone; it sure looked like he could have easily made it).
The obvious point being that it's really hard for a team to turn right around & play another tough, emotional SEC game after having just played one, and it's even harder when they've had only a couple of days to really prep for a really strong opponent.
In contrast, LSU played an easy "cupcake" game against NW State, and they should be very well rested & eager to play in their first SEC game of the year.
Anything can happen in these types of games, of course, which is why college football in the SEC is so much fun to watch. But even though this will be a home game for MState & they'll certainly try their best to win, I would think that LSU's superior athletic strength & extra rest will make it awfully tough for the Bullies to pull this one out. Plus, The Hat knows that getting this first SEC win under his belt is absolutely essential if LSU is gonna make it back to Hotlanta for the SEC Championship Game, and I think he'll have his young troops primed & ready to hand the Bullies a solid loss.
Anywho, just wondering what the rest of you thought. Danny Sheridan is actually pretty good most of the time & he's certainly familiar with big SEC rivalries. But from my perspective, I think this LSU team is more than capable of running the table as long as they stay healthy & are well-motivated for their upcoming SEC battles.
Also, I wonder if the weather might be a factor tonight. It's been unusually cool & windy today and a really strong breeze might make for some "funny bounces" in this one.
Oh well, won't be long until they tee it up down in Starkpatch. Hope it's a goodie.

This is a game MSU has pointed to for a long time. Starkville is buzzing big time. It's not crazy to think they will win just because LSU looks so awesome getting off the bus.

State is like 2-11 ATS against LSU in their last 13 meetings.

quote:I do agree with this. I don't buy all the bull that just because we have more talent and have success against them in the past does not translate into an automatic win tonight. I hope I'm proven wrong and we win going away, but the queasy feeling in my gut says otherwise.

he picks 12 games a week for his clients. he was 10-1-1 last week on his 12 picks. he only banks on the 12 games he's surrest about. he picked AU to win this week, but didn't put it as one of his 12. he did include the MSmoo game, which surprised me.
