I think Utah State can move the ball on Auburn, so I'm looking at Auburn's defense and how they are fundamentally. There is talent but if they are out of position and have poor tackling it doesn't bode well for them.

This is the main thing to watch week 1. Utah St is not a very talented team (obviously) but they are an extremely disciplined and fundamentally sound team. Combine that with a week 1 game against the most inexperienced team in the nation and you have a potential upset. Think Navy v. Notre Dame for this one. Auburn wins, but it goes to the 4th quarter.

They're also not allowed to have caffeine, so they will be well rested too. Utah St. has a great chance to pull the upset, nearly beat OU last year in Norman.

Two difference:

1. Utah State isn't as good as Navy.
2. Notre Dame isn't as good as Auburn.

But other than that, you nailed it.
