Not still going after Cyrus, or recruiting him as a slot wr?
I think we're recruiting him more as an athlete now, who would be in the slot and wildcat. I think our coaches realized he was gonna be tough to land so they picked up Davis and are gonna focus on Bush the most

Ha! Isnt that always how it goes? So is AU no linger aftet Cyrus, or are you guys recruiting him as a slot wr? You said Bush only DB AU is really still after.

No offense man, but the only school he could commit to from Florida if he wanted to is Miami of the big 3.

We're still recruiting Cyrus, but I doubt it's at DB now. Bush should be the final addition to our secondary class if we land him

@JHokanson: TJ Davis got off the phone with Gene Chizik and Curtis Luper not 15 minutes ago. "They just said if I'm committed, then they're committed."

This. But the rest of his offers are still pretty damn impressive

This could be a huge DB class for us but I still have my doubts about Eddie Williams as a safety. I haven't watched many (or maybe zero) highlights of his but if he's 6-4 215 (like I read somewhere, maybe it was wrong) coming into his senior year of high school then he would be a monster safety after some time in our strength and conditioning program.

How big is Mark Barron? He's pretty damn big as well.

6'2 218lbs according to the Bama site. Many schools were recruiting him at LB out of high school

Williams is a freak athlete. He can play safety and play it well. Think Mark Barron with another inch and a half of height. He also has the frame to add weight if Cochran puts him in the training program the LBs go through.
I love Williams at safety though.

I highly doubt Eddie plays anything other than Safety at Bama. I guess they could always recruit him as a Jack LB.

Yeah but he was like 6'2 205 or so coming in as far as I know. Williams just seems like an abnormally large safety to me already. Maybe he's just that good of an athlete that he can pull it off.
Just saying, if he's 6'4 215 (or even 210) right now, how big is he going to be in his redshirt freshman or sophomore year?
We do like big safeties (Barron, Jarrick Williams was listed at 6'2 205) so who knows? But it wouldn't surprise me if he grew into a linebacker. The 0-11-0 defense dream is still alive.

Why is this since he has offers from both Florida and FSU?

Written offers went out a few weeks back, and he didn't get one from FSU or UF.

People need to recognize there is a huge difference between a verbal offer and a written offer. There is also a difference between a kid's "site" offer list & his real offer list. I'm not talking about Davis specifically, but recruiting in general.

No doubt. A kid's offer list can sometimes be BS because they dictate the offer lists on these sites, not the schools.

They asked him if he wanted a shot a WR, but he said he wants to be on defense only.
He reminds me of Robert Sands/Ray Ray Armstrong physically...

How much do you know on Davis? Some Florida people on the mainboard were saying the kid is just a player and should be a 4* and they actually think he's better than Bush

Coaches constantly change commitable offers based current recruiting. He had a commitable offer at one point. Certainly doesn't have on now.
