If you were on a timeline to have the rug placed in someone else's home, and the two individuals were somewhat hostile to each other, I could see giving it to the second person out of spite. Especially, if you wanted to look at the rug from time to time, and the person you gave the rug to lived much nearer to your place of residence.

Well persian rugs that cost $180,000 are inherently used.
