I mean, its been 31 years since 1980 and Herschel Walker. Their rival in Auburn has one a NC in between that time. Even Tennessee seems to have an air of 'nobility' about them. Does UGA still get that respect? Can they play a combination of good & clutch football within the next 5 years and win something significant?

definitely. They are part of the "Big 6" even though they don't have a NC since 1980. Been close a couple of times. Just didn't get the breaks.

Nope, impossible. But in all seriousness,

Georgia is a top-tier SEC school and always will be with the talent in Georgia.

Is the op like 3 years old?

UGA does not have the luck to get into the NC game.
We were close couple of times.

It was only about 5-10 years ago we were one of the premier teams in the conference, winning the east 3 times in 4 years with 2 SEC titles.

Are we down now? Of course we are, there's absolutely no debating that. But we're still Georgia and will ALWAYS be considered one of the big 6, and one of the best schools in the conference. Tennessee was WAY more down recently than we currently are.

yes, but they need to hire a coach who can beat Florida, or at least split the series 50/50. no excuse for going 3-17 against UF in the last 20 years.
and UGA is 7-13 against UT in the last 20 meetings.

Yes they are. Once they get a new coach, they will eventually win a National Championship

They will NEVER win a National Championship with Mark Richt at the controls. Its just not meant to be.

Ablutely they are. They will represent the East this year in Atlanta.

Yes, but they picked a horrible time to stagnate as a program.

Florida down, Tennessee down, SC inconsistent.

If UGA doesn't take its opportunity to get to Atlanta this year, then 2010 and 2011 will go down as some of their greatest missed opportunities.

A drunk short bus rider would fit right in on this board. I can see him fitting that bill.
